P1S: Printing issue on upward facing plains

Hello guys,

My last 2 prints ended with an strange issue: The upward facing plains are printing very rough (see images). First layer perfect though and mostly everything prior.

It happened already once via AMS (but no color change) and a second time directly via external spool. These two prints were done with good national filament brands (of different each time).

The models were downloaded from Makersworld with P1S profile.

Other than doing the bed leveling in every print, I have done no other calibrations and everything was printing fine up until now.

Any ideas?

What type of filament are you printing?

If the first layer is good this is normally because it prints much slower than the subsequent layers. This points to the filament not being printed hot enough. Either you need to increase the temperature or look into why you can’t transfer enough heat into the filament.

Dialing in the correct filament printing temperature is normally done by printing a Temp tower.

It is also good to check to see if the thermal paste between the nozzle and the heater cartridge hasn’t dried out as this can cause heat transfer issues.
