P1S printing - Sound odd or normal? [solved]

I had an issue detailed here: P1S+AMS Printhead Corners Constantly Mid Print (see video) - #7 by RedFrog

Learned from support that it could be something to do with the Auto Step Recovery, so I turned that off, and it no longer gets stuck in any kind of loop.

But listening to it the other day, it just sounds “off” but I keep my printer in a separate room and don’t typically listen to it, so it could be completely normal. Would anyone mind taking a listen and see if it’s sounding normal or if I need to look at cleaning/repairing/replacing some parts?

Your hearing the motion system, and it’s normal. That model either has some small support there or some small details. You’re hearing it change motion in very small increments. Together they sound like rattle.

That makes perfect sense then. Been trying some of the minis with supports meant for resin, and it works okay, sometimes. Might need a different method. But I didn’t want to keep running it without checking in case something was in a bad spot.

No problem. Be sure your filament is dry for minis. You’ll know something is wrong when you start seeing it fall apart on the solid (actual figure) portion. Those resin supports can be tough.

Yo, If You Got a Printer in Your Room, You NEED ANC Headphones – Seriously!

Y’all, I just gotta say this quick. Using ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) headphones is a MUST-HAVE for anyone like me who’s stuck in the same room as their printer. That racket drives you nuts!

Hear me out, one of these printer companies should totally jump on this:

  1. Drop their own headphones (they’d make BANK, no cap).
  2. Or, partner up with a dope audio brand and release a special “Printer Noise Blocker” headset.

Imagine buying a new printer and getting FREE ANC headphones or a massive discount! That’s a HUGE marketing win right there, instant hype. I’ve been rocking mine for a month now and, dude, it’s a total game-changer, essential gear.

Heads Up: The only downside is if you’re playing competitive games where you gotta soundwhore (listen for footsteps), some cheap/sketchy ANC models can mess up the audio. Get a decent one for gaming!

I think the solution is clearly to listen to printer ASMR while falling asleep so you train your brain to ignore the noise.
