P1S question about Accessories for the P1S

Okay All I just ordered my second Bambu Lab printer, I currently have an A1 Combo and personally love it, I am really new to 3d printing, I’ve only been doing it for a few months. The reason I am ordering another is so I can experiment with different types of filaments and keep up with my wife and her friends requests for prints. Okay to the question now, What accessories are important to getting started printing with filaments other than PLA, PETG, TPU in my new P1S?

Thanks for such a great community I am so excited about 3d printing and designing!!

The hardend extruder gear and the hardend 0.4 nozzle.

Yup, sounds familiar. Go ahead and start thinking about furniture you don’t need, you’re going to need more space when you order number 3 and 4… and buy some sturdy shelves for filament storage.

What is the difference between 3 packages they have?
mainly the P1S Combo $699 and the AMS 2 Pro combo $819? What is the extra $120 for, what do you get. I’m first time buyer so think I only need the P1S combo with AMS. since I want to print in color sometimes. Thanks
Thanks

The way it looked like to me was that it is the new AMS that costs the extra money, and it appears to me that the new AMS has a filament heater in it.

I had the same question when preparing to order. AMS2 differences:

  • Heater for drying filament
  • Ceramic filament guide should resist abrasion from filaments with additives better (carbon fiber, glass fiber, glow in the dark, etc)
  • Better filament path that’s easier to access if filament breaks or clogs
  • Has “Pro” in the name

I’ve seen reports that the filament drying heater isn’t as good as a dedicated drier (not much surprise) but can be improved by adding a small fan blowing air over desiccant.

I ordered the AMS 2.
