Hi guys,
since a few weeks im facing a huge extrusion problem of my P1S (<300h print time).
Materials I tried to print is Geeetech PLA, eSun PLA+, eSun ABS and some other cheaper PLA but I can’t rember the brand anymore. However, all of these materials I printed without any problems before. All these materials were calibrated before printing.
From one print to the other, suddenly the extrusion problem started.
The model I tried to print was the same like before, but I could see from the 1st layer, that the extrusion was not sufficient. So I stopped the print and tried to extrude some material at 220°C but no material came out of the nozzle and all I could hear was a cracking noise coming from the extruder. Due to that I deinstalled the nozzle and tested if the extruder is working without nozzle. Like I expected, the filament was transported without a problem, even if I blocked it with my fingers by firmly pressing against the filament coming out of the extruder. After I could confirm that the extruder is not the problem, I tried to push some filament through the nozzle at 220°C by hand but there was no chance to push it through. Next I took a 0,35mm needle to pierce the 0,4mm nozzle free. As soon as I did, there was a blowing noise (pressure relief) and a little bit PLA dropped out of the nozzle and after the PLA, some smoke/steam came out. After putting everything together, I extruded about a half meter of filament without a problem.
After restarting the print, it worked “ok” (not good) for a few layers but soon after the nozzle clocked again. Some tries later with the same results, I replaced the noozle by the spare one I got together with the printer but there was no improvement. Meanwhile I ordered and installed the hardened 0,4mm nozzle and hardened extruder gears but even that didn’t solve the problem.
The profile I’m using is the standard “0.16mm Optimal @BBLX1C”.
All parameters I changed are…
Perimeters 5
Top/Bottom layers 5
Infill 50% Gyroid
From my understanding all these changes do not cause extrusion problems.
What I found out just now is, that if I pause the print after the extrusion problem started and then simply continue the print, the extrusion problem seems to be better for another few layers until it starts again.
On the photo it looks like, that the problem starts as soon as the honey comb starts, what could indicate a problem of retraction. But after changing the honey comb to solid walls, the problem appeared even faster than before.
Hopefully some of you folks have another idea or hint what to do.
Thanks in advance!
