What will be we be able to upgrade from our P1S to the new options that the P2S have?

I’m kind of doubting there will be - mind you, if it needed an addin module or something for the screen for the P1S to be able to drive it, I’d be thrilled, but I suspect doing all the various updates to get near P2S standard would be a good chunk of the price of just a new P2S. (Second best would be “loosen the auth system to let third party screens be used more easily.”)
given the interior is different, the gantry is different, the head is different, the side panels wouldn’t fit. There’s no way to make the screen work (that’s been beaten to death). I think the only way to get P2S features is to buy a P2S.
Oh but don’t let that stop your little noggin from a goin’. No one will take that as answer and there will be dozens of “But if you could” or “Why can’t I” threads going on from now until the P3S launches.

I think the p2s it just an updated version of the X1C, except it has just a couple more advanced features
All the motiony bits are the same, but there’s enough change in just about every other costly portion of the machine that you do not have an upgrade path. Ebay → cash → new printer maybe

bambulab recommends using PTFE 4 -1 for the new p2s. I would like to know if anyone has tried using the old hub with integrated electronics to use more than 2 ams 2 pros, thanks
Post new questions in a new topic and then wait a few days to see if we have an answer.
Think of the forum as a large room with many people in small groups, each discussing a different specific subject. You just ran in, interrupted several of those conversations, asked about a totally unrelated topic and then ran off to disrupt another conversation, without waiting for an answer.
That is incredibly rude.

Not to.dispute that sentiment but the forum software is configured to allow users to necro old threads before they are allowed to make new threads. They’re only doing what is given to them lol hard to blame …

It’s almost become a tradition now that a new user has to answer someone’s question from 2023 before they can proceed lol. I think the only reason lkraus said something this time is because that person posted that exact same thing in 4 threads back to back.

You can now replace P1S’ carbon rods to P2S’ steel ones
Can you point to your source for this? I haven’t hear of this as an option as the bearings are different as well as the housings.

Interesting video.
I do wonder why this user has replaced his carbon rods 3 times? I print pretty much solely ABS with X1C printers and many of the machines have well above 4-5000 hours. I haven’t had to ever replace the carbon rods. Regular maintenance with IPA to clean the rods seems to work for me.

How regular do you do maintenance with IPA? In official article you need clean them every 5kg of ABS or ASA used, but after 1-2 kg for me I have already some scuffs. They’re small, but it’s sign I need to replace them soon. Also there is big friction that also may decrease resource of the belts because you need higher tension to overcome friction. For me 4-5k hours is unbelievable unless you wipe them every print, which nobody probably will do.
So did you succeed in your quest to alter your p1s operating temperatures? Any thoughts that it might be relevant to your accelerated machine wear?
My p1s has 3400 hours and only minor cleanings and regular oil/grease required. Ams is another story but the p1s is just fine

Can you stop asking me everywhere about it? I changed nothing. I’m not the only person who has the same problem. Even ask BL engineers why they have decided to change from carbon to steel. There is a reason.
