This can be different scenarios tbh! Based on the issue I had
If you are using Orca, with the latest firmware (01.08) you can successfully execute a print command but you will not be able to map the AMS. This is causing print to basically pause for a long time after heating up and throws up error saying AMS table cannot be read.
Solution: Downgrade Firmware or Use Bambu Studio or Print with External Spool only if you using Orca (Ughh!)
If you are using Bambu Studio, make sure you are running the latest handy and studio application. You might have also got an update for Latest Network Plugin so make sure you installed that as well.
Unless you need AMS2 pro with P1S, there is no need to update firmware at all. Well, maybe for most people it is for shutting off the annoying fw update message.
I chose a different solution: change to LAN only mode, no more update, no more problem. Already got a backup of fw 1.07.00.00, so that even the worst case that I have to replace AP board that comes with new fw, I still can flash the old fw back and then go my merry way.
You need the newest Bambu Studio 2.00.3.54. This is mentioned that you have to use it.

In order to use all the new features introduced by the new firmware update, Bambu Studio and Bambu Handy should be updated to the latest version available:
Bambu Studio: v2.0.3.54 or later
Bambu Handy: v3.1.0 or later
I unboxed my brand spanking new P1S today and it offered me a firmware upgrade on start up, to 1.08.00. I unknowingly took this and I’ve just wasted 8 hours of my life trying to get it to print, wondering what one earth I was doing wrong. Reverted to 1.07.00 and it’s instantly better.
I have to share this, as it’s phenomenal how bad the printer was behaving with the 1.08 firmware on it, and because it was brand new, I had no frame of reference for what it should have behaved like.
Going left to right, the first 4 were with the 1.08.00 firmware, and they final one was after I had updated the firmware, done a full factory reset, and done the calibration on the hardware side, the CALIBARATION option in the printer. Then I printed the provided 3Dbenchy file from the provided MicroSD. That’s the one on the right.
So for all those folks who’ve bought a P1S recently, I could imagine you’re in the same boat. Get the 1.07.00 firmware, and reset the whole thing. Thanks to @Tim_Durland for giving me the hint, life saver
Thanks James4
I was debugging my new printer the last 4 days. Downgraded to 1.07 and factory reset, hw calibrated again, everything is working.

I have a new P1S, 1 week old. Will going to Version 1.07.00 fix significant blobs and printed lines that are missing such that I stop after the first layer? I can’t post a picture as a new person here. Do I even have access to that firmware version over internet? It happens on flow rate calibration and I stop it after the first layer because it makes big blobs that the nozzle hits on the second layer. It also happens using the settings for Bambu PLA Basic and Generic PLA. And it happens when printing sliced parts from Bambu Slicer. I just bought it 1 week ago and have been struggling to figure out problem. Nothing seems to work and I tried all of the typical things - except tightening more bolts. I tightened the ones that secure the nozzle and that did not fix anything. I use default settings and double checked all settings including nozzle size, K factor, printer type.
