P2S : 1st Layer issues

I have some strange issue with the first layers and Bed adhesion:

Could this be due to the Aux Fan, but why would there be hot spots? Or is this a broken Heat pad?

Issues:

  • :red_circle: 1 Large 1 Small Cold Spot
  • :green_circle: 2 Small Hotspots
  • Printer model: P2S (1M Old)
  • Slicer Settings: Default
  • Plate : Textured PEI
  • Filament: Bambulab Basic PLA Pumpkin Orange

How are you cleaning your bed?

I cleaned it about every few days with soap and water and after each print with IPA except when I print ABS then I use 3DLack and clean every other print with IPA.

I have redone the test with Matt PLA and got a perfect result?

This is odd?

You also dried the filament? Perhaps the pumkin PLA was exceptionally wet?

because you probably cleant all the filth with the previous print…
soap and water are needed once when the plate is new and then only if you drop oil or grease on it… try without spray for a week. If you have the issue that models don’t pop out the plate, get a smooth plate and forget these issues forever.
I never printed ASA and such on a PEI and frankly I don’t feel the need to do the experiment because PEI are: difficult to clean, dirt remains in the carvings and the rag can’t reach the inside of them, they grab too much. I ruined them all with the blade, trying to don’t cut myself while removing petg layers (under hot water)

smooth plate, nothing to relate to that madness  :joy:
