P2S as a dedicated TPU printer

I have a new project I will be working on and have an H2C and H2S coming as well as a P2S. I want to stay with Bambu printers if possible. I was hoping I could use the P2S as a dedicated TPU and other flexible filament printing. I have seen videos of people using the HT with the TPU port but results look mixed. I would prefer to stay with Bambu but if I have to get another brand and model I will. I also want it to be enclosed so I can vent it properly.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Most commonly people dedicate bed slingers like the A series to TPU as these printer are pretty much ideal for TPU. You don’t need an enclosure, print speed is limited by the filament and not by the printer and open bed printers are generally cheaper.

I’m not saying that a PS2 is a bad printer for TPU but it’s a bit over spec’d for only printing TPU.

Thanks Jon. I am concerned about air quality which is why I was focusing on enclosed. Is there a good way to contain the A1?

Simply enclosing it doesn’t help, you’d still need to vent or filter the enclosure somehow. On Amazon grow tents are cheap.

Is there a specific reason you are concerned about air quality and TPU? Have you printed with it before and had issues?

I think that it is important to remember that Bambu printers don’t carry any “air quality” certification. They have on board “filtration” but if you’re truly concerned about air quality you need to look at certified 3rd party air purification.

Thanks guys, I want to dedicate a printer to so I don’t have to swap on my other printers. I have a full ventilation system already in place and I know the enclosures need to be vented. To cover the four 3D printers for exhaust (H2C, H2S-laser, P2S, Creality K2 plus) will all tie into an exhaust system that I have designed and installed. Here is the layout:

6" duct from the outside vent for about 2 feet to a vent shutoff/damper and then the shutoff connects directly to an AC Infinity Cloudline Pro T6 blower.

The Cloudline Pro connects directly to a 90 degree 6" elbow then to a 6" to 4" reducer.

The reducer then feeds about 10 feet of 4" clear duct (not flex) that has five 4" Y (actual Y, not T) fittings that then feed to each printer. Each printer run is a single 4” damper, then an access port, then each printer is connected via a 4” flex that each run about two to 3 feet. This is designed so I can adjust each printers damper to equalize the system. The 4" run also has one 90 degree soft elbow at about 5 feet. I will be adding a Y at the 6” area to feed an exhaust blower for the room only.

I have an additional 4" AC Infinity Cloudline Pro S4 blower to add to the H2S with the laser if needed as I adjust the system. Each printer 4” run has a remote anemometer so I can adjust the system.

I also have a Coway ProX air purifier and a Dreo Turbopoly fan that moves along both the X and Y axis to move air randomly throughout the room.

This is all in an approximately 400 sq ft Garage than is conditioned space but wide open.

I monitor all of it with a local professional air quality meter that monitors all air quality measurements.

Sounds like you’ve got your system all figured out. Seems like overkill to me but to each their own.
