Hello, I have my P2S from like 4 days and till the first print I wasn’t able to get a good looking print. The white print are done with Bambu basic pla, dried in ams2pro and it’s like around 19/20 % of humidity but I always get that ugly ringing/banding (I don0’t know how to exactly call that) in every print, even with the benchy that is already saved on machine so optimized for printing with p2s. I don’t know if it’s a belt tension problem, or if there are structural problem in the chassis of the printer.
I think that there are problem with the bed too, the bottom of the benchy look too squished.
I can’t imagine that a new printer comes with this bad print quality.
Are there anything that I can do to reach a quality worth of bambulab printers ? I’m really heartbroken by this.
Does anyone have the same problem or have managed to solve that ?

Your print quality isn’t bad at all. This is what should be expected for 3d printing. You should be able to get a slightly better surface finish by manually calibrating your filament but you will always see layer lines.
Thank you for your answer, but some layer lines are are further inward than the others, and when alternated they give an uneven effect to the wall. When you run your finger over them you can feel them.
Is your printer on a rock-solid, level foundation or on a table?
On my printer this happens if I touch the printer while it is running.
My printer is on a furniture piece that without counting all things inside weight around 100 kg, it’s very solid
A note: The 3D models stored on the printer are not optimized for quality, but should rather be seen as a benchmark. We had exactly the same discussion a week ago. But no problem, I’ll summarize it briefly for you:
Download 3D models from the MakerWorld website and import them into Bambu Studio on your PC. There you can make a wide range of quality adjustments.
Bambu even has its own portfolio with 3D models:
Then, as mentioned, open it in your slicer/Bambu Studio and select a quality setting. There you will also find some helpful tips on what might work best.
Unfortunately, I had similar artifacts on my printer but not as bad as yours. There are many that are currently unhappy with the P2S print quality, and I would argue that it is not normal. My A1 Mini has better print quality I would say. I have found after my various different tests and calibrations that what is going on is most likely firmware related. This printer is very new and doesn’t seem to have the most revised firmware, and no print quality defects seem to occur at the same time in the same place.
On the bright side, I have found I am pretty much obsessing about this print quality. I have started just ignoring it, and the prints look pretty nice in “normal” lighting. And firmware updates may help with these problems. Your situation could be different than mine though, and could actually not be the “normal” print quality I experienced.
TLDR: It is normal, things will get better as more firmware updates are pushed.
I’m having similar problems with my P2S. I had similar problems with an A1 I owned before, but they weren’t as pronounced.

Hi, I’m in contact with technical support since like 10 days and they recognized my type of problem and we are actually trying to understand what is causing the problem but since now I don’t have any solution or any ideas of what could be causing this.

Did anyone actually manage to solve this? I’m having the same quality issues with my new P2S, and it’s beyond frustrating.
I’ve already tried re-tensioning the belts and checking the hardware, but it didn’t help. Right next to this machine, I have an X1C with over 3,000+ printing hours, and it still produces significantly better results than the brand-new P2S.
It’s hard to accept that a next-gen printer is being outperformed by an old workhorse right out of the box. Is this a widespread quality control issue with the P2S series, or is there some other hardware fix we’re missing? Would love to hear if anyone found a real solution
In the same boat, coming off an a1 mini for the past 6 months did a side by side print with same filament and settings, z banding is worse on the p2s doing a tall cylander.
I didn’t know this was an issue, I would have held off buying one!
Ya know its funny… yeah on a bed slinger the bed moves BUT… the center of gravity is always at the top of core xy… and x and why are both pushing on that extruder at the same time with those big heavy bars… in a way I’m starting to like bed slinger idea more. LOW center of gravity, motion split between 2 axis….
But yeah… p2s not so great for me.

A couple weeks ago I printed a sleeve for this puzzle model on Makerworld, and it came out PERFECT. Like I couldn’t even tell it was 3D printed it was so good. I have no clue why it was so good, I’m assuming it’s the consistent layer times and extrusion rate but it was like actually so good looking. I can’t take pictures of it right now but maybe later I can. So I know the P2S is capable of printing really good, but something is just… off.

It is recommended that you perform belt tensioning as described in
wiki.bambulab /en/p2s/maintenance/belt-tension
. If the print quality does not improve after tensioning, it may be due to looseness in the printer’s Z-axis screw rods, resulting in regular layer lines. You can refer to this guide to retighten the Z-axis timing pulley and perform a consistency adjustment on the Z-axis sliders:

Afterward, observe whether the print quality has recovered.
Has anyone had a fix for this yet? I have been working with Bambu and done basically everything under the sun with no result. this thing has printed terrible right out of the box and I now have nearly 600 hrs of terrible prints, failed prints, with the majority of the hours wasted on testing prints. Pretty sad my Ender3 that’s on its second rebuild @1200 hours prints better than this thing!!! I thought I would finally save up and get a replacement that was worth the asking price. Boy was I wrong. About to dump it on marketplace to someone that does not care about the quality so much and buy an X1C or H2S or something.
I am having the same issues with my P2S. I get some good prints then others fail. This happens when I am trying to print small on the full surface of the bed. Some of it will start to come out good then before the first layer is even done, just minutes in it starts to drag the model off the plate.
