Hi everyone,
I’m having a mechanical issue with my Bambu Lab P2S and wanted to check if anyone has seen this before or found a fix.
Problem:
The toolhead cable guide arm pivot pin is loose and slides downward during Y-axis movement. When this happens, the cable guide arm cannot fully retract, physically blocking the toolhead from reaching the rear Y limit.
Symptoms:
- During auto calibration, the printer seems to home correctly at first
- Mid-calibration, Y loses its reference
- The toolhead cannot reach 100% of the Y travel
- When moving the toolhead by hand, the pivot pin clearly slides down and becomes a hard stop
I’ve confirmed:
- Belts are fine
- No cable snagging
- Issue is purely mechanical
- The internal spring is working, but the pin is not retained axially
From what I can see, the pivot pin should rotate only, not move up/down. In my case, the plastic retention seems worn or defective.
Questions:
- Has anyone successfully fixed this without replacing the entire cable guide arm assembly?
- Is there a known tolerance issue with this pivot pin on the P2S?
- Any recommended temporary fix while waiting for replacement parts?
Thanks in advance!
