Are current P2S’ shipping with the new back panel designed for mounting the external exhaust fan?
Or are they shipping with the exhaust fan as standard?

Just received 1/27, new back panel - need to buy the fan kit. US
Panel = free upgrade
Exhaust = paid
Got mine a few weeks ago and it came with the new back panel.
Just got mine from Micro Center in Santa Clara, CA, and it’s the old back panel
You will need buy the exhaust fan kit, also you will need the exhaust filter(currently out of stock).
I was wondering if anyone in Canada has recently purchased the P2S and can confirm whether it has a back panel with a vent. I’m considering replacing my old P1S with the P2S, but I need to be able to vent it outside.
In fact you can do it with both back plate versions.
You’ll get the new back plate version - for free, if you tick it - whilst ordering the fan kit. Which you have to order anyways. Once the fan kit will be available again…
The fan kit is available on AliExpress. Roughly same price. The new back plate too, but not for free (who would have thought…).
Anyway you would have to print some parts. I’m using the Ali fan kit, it works like a charme (it even comes in a non fake looking package), on the old back plate - while waiting for the fan kit incl. the free back plate to become available sooner or later. It will be later, I suppose.
I’m not really in a hurry — my P1S works perfectly fine, though the hours are slowly accumulating. I’m not planning to do all the replacements myself as I simply don’t have the time. I’ll wait for them to fix the back panel mistake; waiting another month or two shouldn’t be a problem. I was just wondering if they have already started shipping the new P2S to Canada.
Typically Bambu Labs has their anniversary sale in the summer. If you’re in no rush, it might be worth your while to wait until then. Maybe by then, the parts and filament shortages will be sorted out.
Now they’re showing sold out instead of “available March 10”. And, it’s just 3 AM on the 10th! I never even got a notice they were in stock.
Come on Bambu! You can do better!
Bambu Labs seems to be struggling keeping stuff in inventory. Several times, I’ve gotten an email that something I was waiting on was in stock and when I click the link to order, it’s already not available for order, even just a few hours or minutes later.
It seems like they may be a victim of their own success. They can’t keep up with demand. I wonder if customers, especially the larger print farms are using bots continually checking inventory and ordering as soon as something shows up.
There was a supply chain problem with Raspberry Pi hardware a couple of years ago. You couldn’t find any in stock at list price anywhere. Raspberry Pi said their whole production was committed to commercial customers who were using the Raspberry Pi products in their products leaving none for makers. I wonder if something like that is going on with Bambu Labs.
At least Raspberry Pi was transparent about the situation. That made waiting a little more bearable. I hope Bambu Labs will do the same and let us know what’s going on with inventory and let us know when (if) we will have most items in stock.
I like my BL printers and filament and how the whole eco system works together, but if I can’t get the parts and filaments I need, will I have to look elsewhere?
I have a P2S with the old rear panel and was wondering if the new panel made any real difference?
I currently take the exhaust (from near the poop shute) feed it thoough a HEPA/carbon filter using the exhaust kit fan and PCB without the BL printed bits (I did my own design) and feed that back into the chamber through the poop shute. I do have a ventilated riser for PLA.
Seems to work ok as my wife who has a nose like a bloodhound can’t smell any thing from the printer.
I found tons of them, supposedly, available on Aliexpress.

Prices vary from under US$20 to over US$60. All claim to be original Bambu products and have reviews touting how great they work! Interestingly, they all indicate current stock, BUT won’t ship until after March 19. Co-incidentally, the Bambu store shows sold out, but more will be available “before March 20”.
I smell a rat. I’m not sure if Bambu is prioritizing shipments to resellers, or just what is going on, but it stinks!
Maybe @SupportAssistant can explain this.
As of right now, the exhaust kits are in stock at Bambu.
And, a few hours later, they’re out of stock again. I never got notified. I just happened to check at the right time. ![]()
