P2S Print offset problems from a new printer

Hello All,

I have been using an X1C and an A1 for several years.

I just received a new P2S yesterday and it failed first time around. The printhead is offsetting on the Y axis by several millimetres about 8-10 layers into the print.

As you can see from the above pic, it’s shifted by nearly 9mm.

And the X axis by 2.33mm

Also, note the failure of the prime tower….

You can just see the remnants of the prime tower on the hex shaped part.

Any thoughts or has anyone had this type of thing?

My X1C is now +3,000 hours of printing without too much trouble.

Is there an offset when you print the included Benchy?

To me it looks like the printhead is hitting something at the rear of the printer and causing it to lose steps. Check to make sure that all of the packaging is removed. Manually move the head to all 4 corners to check that everything is clear

Oh, one more thing….

It fails to detect the print plate.

I can only get it started by selecting “Ignore this….”

No, it’s not the plate, I’ve tried several.

I did an X, Y belt retension and also a recalibration.

I can’t see any packaging floating about

The P2S won’t detect plates from the x/a series. It uses a different detection method.

Yeah, I think it’s a load sensor (?)

Bambu said to disable the bed detection as it’s not functional yet.

Did you update the FW? Mine had a problem with version 01.00.05 that produced a similar looking mess. Update to 01.01.01 and everything is fine.

Yes. There was a firmware update available and I installed it in the hope that it might fix it.

The P2S is now in production running about 18 hours a day. Only a couple of days yet but looks promising.
