I’ve been using my printer to print esp8266 enclusures in Bambu’s own PETG-HF filament in 0.20mm standard print profile in bambu studio. I noticed the prints were a bit ugly but I didnt care at the time. I got my printer a few weeks ago. I was not looking for quality prints because these enclosures are hidden. I started printing enclosures in high quality settings within bambu studio but the quality is very bad.
I tried drying my filament 3 times in my AMS2 Pro. I tried a full calibration twice. Upgraded latest firmware and latest bambu studio software. I tried different quality profilesb and nothing seems to change this. I tried increasing and decreasing nozzle and bed temps. I tried calibrating dynamic flow and flow rates. I did 4 cold pull maitenances to make sure i didnt have a partial clog.
It looks like its a ringing pattern. Any ideas? Belt tension? This a essentially a new printer.
I’m using bambu filament so it should all be configured automatically. I haven’t changed any settings except that I have tried changing the nozzle temperature and the bed temperature to increase it to see if it helps but it doesn’t seem to make any difference
I also tried installing a diverter chute on the side cooling fan
Ok ive tried a few things. I looked at the layer times and noticed that at those seams that you see on my prints, the layer time was very high because it swapped to the support filament for the support interface (PLA) on those layers. I thought maybe the filament had time to cool so
I tried upping the nozzle temps all the way up to 265c to try and get a better adhesion. Still it splits at both seams on the side wall that you see in my original post.
I also tried camferring the internal walls and going up to 8 layers of walls.
The print always splits at those seams where it changes filament. Then this morning I was thinking maybe I’m getting cross contamination between the PETG-HF and the PLA filaments, so i’m printing another print but tgis time only using PETG for the support interface instead of PLA. I’ll report back my findings
Ok ive confirmed that my PETG-HF issues were due to cross contamination with the PLA support filament. As you can see the print is nearly flawless now and could possibly be flawless if i dailed the nozzle temps back down to 245c as I printed this at 265c that I had it set at from the previous print. Also I cannot pull the layers apart anymore and the adhesion is great now
