Only just found this community and thought I would pop a question in to see if some bambu boffins could explain something for me.
I will start off by saying I am fairly new to 3d printing and have very little knowledge but learning every day.
I very recently bought a p2s combo to upgrade from my creality ender 3 V3 plus. I am happy with the p2s although I wish I fully understood the colour changing times when printing….. My question is, I have found the print time on the p2s to be slower than the ender 3. I’m finding this bizarre as the p2s is newer technology so I would think it should complete prints sooner…. I have even loaded up the same file on both printers, used the same filament and had the same nozzle setting but the creality finishes a good bit sooner than the p2s.
Can someone maybe advise as I’m not sure if I have something set incorrectly although I haven’t messed with anything apart from inputting a profile for the sunlu filament which I have also done in the creality.

I use sunlu filament and I noticed yesterday evening when I use the bambu filament profiles over the sunlu ones I added the print times are significantly reduced…. Could anyone explain this? Have I input something incorrectly when adding the sunlu profile?
I came from a Ender 3 Pro to the P2S so for me this was a massive leap in print time. I checked the specs of the Ender 3 V3 Plus and tbh they claim similar print speeds and accelerations in their datasheet unless I misread it, but you now obviously have the benefit of the enclosure and the AMS colour change system as I’m guessing your V3 didn’t have that or something similar?
However, after reading your update regarding the filament your using I think I know the answer. If you look in the bambu filament profiles vs generic profiles you’ll see that there is quite a large difference in the max volumetric flow value. This is either because bambu want you to use their filament or they haven’t done the R&D to dial in other manufacturers filament profile (which tbh makes sense from a business perspective).
Either way your filament it likely capable of running higher volumetric flows, I managed to increase mine from 12mm3/s to 22mm3/s on both my ESUN and SUNLU filaments after going through a proper calibration process. I followed the processes mentioned in @itebayo video linked below (I didn’t do the heat tower or retration cal as I didn’t have issues here) and it worked really well.
As I mentioned I am fairly new to ed printing and I have been using them as a press and print kinda use, I haven’t had to change any settings and settings up the sunlu profiles was the first time I had really put any kind of input into the software….. After reading your reply I did notice the volumetric flow was much lower in the sunlu profile, I changed it to 21 to match the bambu profile but after doing so I pulled up a print which on bambu filament said 33 minutes but still showed 55 minutes using sunlu filament even after changing the flow speed…. I didn’t do a calibration of the filament though after changing the flow, is this something I need to do in order for the software to store that flow rate?
I have for the time being resorted to using the bambu profiles while using the sunlu filament as the print times are significantly lower. I loaded a colour print just to see the time difference and I was amazed how much longer it was going to take using the sunlu profile on a simple 2 colour print.
The layer time is also something you have to change. Bambu filament has it set to 4 seconds (in the cooling tab next to fan speed at the top) and generic filament is at 8 seconds. This wouldn’t matter on larger parts but on smaller ones it will make a huge difference in final print time.
I tired changing the setting you mentioned from 8s on the generic to 4s and even on a set of 9 detailed prints it only shaved around 1 minute of the print time. This definitely helps but I have now idea what setting would shave 22 mins of the print time, I can only imagine that it is actually print speed or acceleration related.
@laserprint75 When I switch between my calibrated SUNLU PLA+ profile and the Bambu labs matte PLA profile I have nearly no print time difference.
Are you able to tell us exactly what filaments you are comparing and maybe sharing a link for the model that your trying to print so we can take a look?
