hi all, probably like a few individuals I have gone with the P2S and Ams PRO2 separately due to current stock issues, this has opened up a mind field on my part as I have found out you need need a few more components for a “combo set up” I have the specific buffer required and the extra ptfe tube required, the only thing I’m struggling for is further installation advice. the buffer on the combo comes pre wired to the P2S internal board thus allowing the buffer to be connected to to ams pro2 via the supplied 6pin bus cable supplied. my question is , how do I then connect my buffer unit to the internal board of my P2S ,cable required ect, or am I being dumb and been given misleading information? your advice would be gratefully received.
I don’t have an AMS PRO 2 but have you checked the wiki here?

Remove the grey plastic plug on the back of the P2S where the buffer mounts. The cable connector is held on the back of the plug and will pull out. Hope this helps.
hi Jim, thanks for replying, i am awaiting the standalone printer to be delivered, so I don’t need an extra cable, its hidden behind the the plastic pug which will then clip in to my buffer? mtia
There is a rubber cover on the back of the printer that needs to be pulled out and this cable is secured in it.
Didn’t make it in time
Hi there, I’m still getting responses from further research, which is still stating that there is no cable behind the cover plug to connect the buffer, this is only available on the combo unit sorry I’m making a big deal out of this , just need total clarity.
It’s there. I also bought it without AMS, since I had AMS.
The cable is definitely present behind the grey plastic plug on the standalone P2S. The combo version comes with the buffer already fitted in place. Don’t pay too much attention to what AI says, unlike most people on this forum, the AI computer has never owned a 3D printer!!
hi Jim, thanks again for your further clarification, I can confirm you were absolutely correct, my hesitations came from a lack of clarity and information as so many helpful videos only show the combo being set up and I have yet to find someone installing the "add ons " required to make the standalone into a P2S combo, many thanks again to you sir!
Just a note, don’t let the stock issues scare you off too badly. When I ordered mine, it said January 6th and I got it a week before. It says Jan 15th now. Maybe it will take that long, but maybe it won’t.
