P2S Weird issues with 2-3 layers

getting issue after 3 attempts on printing Eco Filament Poop Bin (Eco Filament Poop Bin - X1, X1C, P1P, P1S, and P2S Remixed by mourix MakerWorld: Download Free 3D Models)

default profile settings
pla matte

after couple layers prints goes bad with 2 issues:

  1. outer layers become strings and not attached
  2. some areas in the middle are messed up

I tried to print test 1 layer square and it looks perfect

i aslo tried printing with door and top open for cold air and with fully closed box, no changes

Welcome to the forum.

If you are getting a perfect first layer and problems with the second one chances are you are trying to print too fast. The first layer prints much slower than subsequence ones.

Also matte filament usually has to be printed slower than normal filament. What brand of filament are you printing?

its bambu matte grey PLA… how can I make it print slower?

The easiest way to test this is to print in “Silent” mode as this will cut speeds by 50%

Are you trying to print something with a fillet on the bed?


The area in red is really hard to print as there is too much of an overhang. With a tall enough layer height the outer wall doesn’t have anything to adhere to and will pull off the model as you have seen. Speed probably isn’t your problem, model geometry is.

Ya that model isn’t great.

Those ridges are from the out wall peeling up and getting run over by the nozzle.

In addition to the already good advice, Ensure that pressure advance is enabled in your filament profile and is within reason. The gaps between your walls and solid infill are too large to be normal, they look almost completely unattached.

I wondered that as well but I think part of the gap shown in the last picture is because the wall is peeling up.

the weird thing is that this bin was printer by 1000s of users with no issues, it means p2s should handle it jsut fine

Ensure you’re not configuring your slicer wrong first before comparing your successes!

I was not able to figure out the issue. someone else reached out to me with simialal problem on p2s…
ended up printing different poop backet

I have a new P2S, I had exactly the same issue with the same model and also a “fidget ring”. Did you find any more of these issues with other models? Did you fix it?
