Not sure if this issue exists in later revisions of Studio, I haven’t moved up since the version before the security changes. But…
I have some HIPS filament I decided to use for my primary filament instead of for dissolvable supports for ABS (which is why I originally bought it). It printed great with all the defaults except it left a blob at the start of every extrusion line. Too much PA (which I think the slicer defaults to 0.020 if no other value is specified). Did the PA calibration and it pretty much came out as 0.000 being best. I didn’t believe it could be 0, so I used 0.005 instead. The blobs were significantly reduced but not eliminated. Figured, OK, it really does want PA = 0, so I edited the filament calibration and changed it to 0.000.
Now I’m printing and the blobs are big again.
Looking at the Device tab, where the filament spool is shown, it says HIPS but there is no K value displayed below the filament type. Like a K value had never been entered.
It looks to me like the slicer is interpreting a K value of 0 to be the same as “not entered” and it’s using the default 0.020 again instead of 0.000 like I want…
