Panda Touch 12C connector use?

Any update on the I2C sensor? I have noticed there is a listing on biqu.equipment for the “Panda Sense”. Can you tell us what features it might have (precision, update speed, etc.)?

It’s probably coming soon since they put that up. The firmware is definitely ready now, @johnfcooley figured out you can plug some 3rd party sensors in and it works now. Check this out:

I did check that thread, but I think I’ll wait for the Panda Sense because I just want a plug-and-play solution. Seems interesting though!

Kind of pointless for the near future unless you don’t update firmware. The new authorization feature will kill control. I guess you’ll still be able to monitor the print with the touch, and thus see the readout, but the touch will become “just a monitor” once it’s pushed and there’s no choice.

BTT claims they’re working on it. However it remains to be seen. I don’t see BL allowing a third party a backdoor. Mty guess is they’ll have to come up with a new touch. Not buying that thing again, even if it’s not BTTs fault.

Will aftermarket accessories stop working?

If aftermarket accessories, such as Panda Touch, control features like binding/unbinding the printer, initiating print jobs, axis movement, or calibrations, these functions will no longer work. However, other features, such as monitoring printer status (e.g., temperature, position, speed) and LED control, will remain accessible.

In these cases, we cannot guarantee long-term support for unofficial accessories unless they have been approved by us in advance. Once we became aware of the Panda accessories, we communicated these updates to their creators.

That said, we welcome official collaborations with companies interested in developing accessories for Bambu Lab printers, as we have successfully partnered with other companies in the past, including E3D and Slice Engineering.

So this sounds like there’s some sort of miscommunication or rift between BTT and BL. Wonder what was needed to become an “official” accessorie and what was the hangup with the BTT items?

To be fair BTT made it clear that future firmware updates could break PT functionality. Given the marketing of the Panda line of products you’d think that getting the “Official” license would have been important.

I’m just wondering.

Given how long it’s taken the PT to implement some features, I would believe this would effectively kill it as a control device, and relegate it to monitoring only for the foreseeable future. Even less reason to buy it now, especially at $59. Given that on FB you see posts STILL with reboot issues.

If you have a Klipper machine I’d just swap the Touch over to the Klipper firmware and forget about Panda products.

I think that BTT should probably work with BL on getting an “official” status if they want to keep selling the PT.

I am (slowly working on a project that I think will get BTT out of the picture and probably give good results.

Bambu Lab has Bambu Studio for Windows, whatever Apples current OS is, and Linux.
Linux is the key in that you can get Linux on a tablet or Apple users can load BL Studio to an ipad but either way you can emulate the BTT device and just have a tablet running Bambu Studio at the printer

I don’t think you can get bambu studio on an Ipad

This is my plan B. In somewhat related news I still don’t have the Eddy Duo I won from them in December… and I remind them of that in the Instagram comments of every give-a-way they launch now

My mistake.
I have Bambu Handy on my Kindle/
Seems like a better option than BTT

Hello everyone, can anyone tell me what kind of male I need to buy to connect the ATH21 to the panda touch? I can’t find the right code to order what kind of jst is it? thanks

I think it’s a Grove connector, it’s not a JST plug

So I bought an ATH21 sensor and connected to the panda touch worked for a dwarf second then no more , I do not know if you have ruined the sensor pa for a few seconds read temperature and humidity 20 degrees and 56% moisture I unplugged it to mount everything on the printer but then nothing sees it itself , I then tried with an ATH20 and reads only the temperature 5 degrees fixed no damp the panda touch works as always even if during tests it is turned off a couple of times when I connected the sensor what you recommend the firmware at the moment is 1.6 in how much will come out the panda sense? thanks

Probably doesn’t help your problem but for folks using the Panda Touch AND an I2C device, has BTT pre-configured their device for a particular device which they specify or something different?

My inclination is to think everything is preconfigured so you have a graphical template of the gauge, just waiting to be populated with the appropriate data.

It depends on whose AHT21 you buy. It looks like you can use Grove or Stemma/QT (JST PH)

BTT Just announced Panda Sense - the worst kept secret since the iPhone 4s.

But… why not make your own?

On maker world there’s my model for a enclosure - which can be stuck onto the inside with a magnet/foam pad

The sensor is now available from BigTree Tech
