I bought a Panda Touch screen because of my eyes hard to see things at 77 I get a kick out of doing this stuff an making the things that you guys put on Makers World you guys are the smart ones .I got the touch up and running so can someone tell me how you print ,does it work with Bambu Handy ? I want to do a test print , I loaded ASA in number one ,from all you guys that post on You Tube I think I need to print out a few things ,Riser so I can keep top off when using PLA,weights for filament in the AMS,and things for putting in drier stuff. Thanks for all your help guys

And, most important: what’s your question?
The Touch will not work with current firmware on the P series. You can downgrade firmware to the working versions, it’s on their website and the product page.
Bambu locked down the firmware specifically MQTT allowing for the Touch to control the printer. Unless you use LAN mode it will only give you information about what’s going on, but will not control the printer.
Like I said, you can use the Handy app to revert back to firmware that allows control through the Touch.

I bought a P1S last summer. I already had an X1C for my permanent residence, but wanted a printer for my summer home. I thought about getting a Panda touch but then, looking at all the caveats, I decided against it.
After using the P1S all summer long and doing LOTS of printing, the only times I ever used the printer’s touch panel was:
- To get the IP address, serial number, and Access code so I could connect to it.
- Exercise the Z axis to lube the lead screws (I did this once).
Any other time I used Orca Slicer in LAN Only mode and it met ALL of my needs without any squinty eyes. FWIW, I am 2 years younger than you.
Full disclosure, I did add a Tapo Web Cam to monitor the printing and kept the P1S firmware at pre-encrypted level.
I have the bambu P1S with
firmware 01.09.00.00. and the Panda touch with firmware v1.0.5.
problem is I’m not able to control anything on the panda touch except the light on the printer.

I had to go back to 1.07.00.00 to get mine to work, with this firmware everything works fine.

It will work until you upgrade to 1.09xxx
If you want it to continue to work stay under that firmware. Go over it and it’ll show you what’s going on with the printer, but won’t allow you to actually control the printer. Doesn’t seem to be a fix in sight for that.
That’s unfortunate. Bambu doesn’t offer a touch screen option for the P1S and intentionally shut down using a third party touch screen via firmware…? 
I guess that’s their effort toward making us upgrade to the P2S?
Sure, back when they designed the P1S instead of using the screen they chose to save on cost for them and the consumer, they used it to push folks toward the P2S. Shut down MQTT for just that and that alone.

The Touch was released and BL told BiQu that there may come a time that it doesn’t work. There may come a firmware that breaks the communication. BiQu released it anyway and told their customers the same.
BL released the firmware but specifically mentioned that IF you want to use the Touch you will have to remain on that firmware or go to LAN only mode. No P2S required.
BL will never offer a touchscreen update for the P1S. The little engine that could inside can’t run such a screen.
BL has a conspiracy going to take over the world using the cameras in the printers, and those alone. They also want to corner the market on Penguin feet. However they have not decided to FORCE users to buy the P2S using the ole bait and switch screen.
