So I wrote an openscad script that compiles without errors or warnings on my local machine but Makerworld says it wont compile. What do I need to do to the scripts to make them Makerworld compatible?
Can you upload your script in this page?
You upload your openSCAD script just like any other files, STLs, pics, etc., into the model page during creation or editing. MW will detect that there’s an openSCAD in your model page and it will automatically display the icon and button to indicate that it is customizable.
There isn’t any documentation available yet. What I did is I updated my script by portions until I got the error message gone. It’s tedious to do but that’s what we have at the moment. Except for a couple lines I edited, afterwards, I managed to get it to compile. Sorry I can’t remember what they were.
I have successfully upload and then used the OpenSCAD file using the customiser.
Mine is private right now as I continue to test things.
If you don’t wish to provide a 3mf file, choose the second choice when uploading the file and drag (or select) your OpenSCAD file).
If you want to provide a 3mf, choose the first item when uploading the file and drag (or select) your OpenSCAD file). Then on the next screen, provide your OpenSCAD file at the top of the screen as it directs.
After your model is ‘published’, the model page has the customiser option, press that button and there you are.
No It’s too big but it’s up on the makerworld page already https://makerworld.com/en/models/459954
