Parametric Model Maker: Font Type, Shell layers, PAUSE

The Parametric Model Maker needs a few more features to make it truly powerful.

Firstly, I am grateful for the closed-source open, it makes the offering far more flexible, as we can choose which suits the model best.

  1. The ability to set profile parameters programmatically.

    Example

Setting the Top and bottom shell layers.

  2. Defining the filaments automatically added due to choices made in the built-in Colour UI.

    Example

If I have #BB3D43 set (darkish red), I would like to denote that it appears as BL PLA Matte (as it is the Dark Red hex), and not BL PLA Basic. This should include all the BL filament types and the Generic options. Maybe just text.,

  3. The ability to set one or more PAUSE at layer commands.

    Example

If I have a magnet as part of my model, I would like to automatically set the correct layer to PAUSE based on choices the user makes for the magnet height.

  4. Ability to turn off the Prime Tower and related settings, if not handled by point 1.

    Example

Not all models need a prime tower even if there are two or more colours.

  5. Filament sequence per build plate

    Example

With multiple colour models, the printed order of each colour can determine a successful quality print.

Other things have already been asked elsewhere:

  • Be able to set the filename, I was positive I read this somewhere as being possible, but I can’t find it now.
  • Naming plates
  • Allow the user the ability to save the current settings to a file on their local machine. With the option to use those settings later by opening the data from the local machine.

If you would like me to provide examples of how each could be marked up to make it easy to process, I am happy to supply.
