When printing a small white post with a hex screw fell on the print plate. I can’t seem to identify where it came from.
woah. I don’t know what it is either. hope you can get printing soon! maybe try and print something and see what happens? bad advice but idk if you’re going to figure it out any other way…
Possibly one of two posts holding the part cooling fan to the front print head cover. Seems to be a common failure for the X1C.
My posts are still intact, but the cover itself has developed a crack. I’ve printed a spare cover while the old one still works.
Looks like it is from the nozzle wiper that is at the side of the purge chute.
If the nozzle wiper broke, there would be a bit of black plastic under the screw head.
The fan mount posts are different. The fan slips over the post, and the screw should only keep it from sliding off the post. I think that sometimes a difference between the post height and the fan thickness puts too much tension on the post, causing a break. When the post fails, there is no material between the broken piece and the screw head.
