Pause button stopping movement during maintenance - for safety

Every so often I do something stupid during printer maintenance, like clicking ‘Home’ with some objects on the table.

Often there is no easy way to stop the movement before the process completes, short of switching the printer off (the switch hard to reach during first panicky seconds).

It would be great to use physical ‘Pause’ button (I have one on both X1C and H2D) to immediately stop movement (and set hotends to 0°C), while the printer is not printing. The door sensor could be used as an obvious condition, to avoid accidentally ruining the print.

Only software, but still kind of safety measure

I have found some old discussions on Reddit about why the pause button on X1C is not an e-stop button, as originally planned by Bambu (hence the red symbol on it).

My point still stands, I think.

If it worked as e-stop only with doors open, and with “enable this feature” in settings, it should be both safe and useful while not printing.

I personally cringe at physically switching off the printer every time I want it to stop bed leveling.
