Hello all, just wanted to introduce myself and provide some of my peer reviewed and published works for food safe 3d printing.
Back in 2020, i was studying in my undergrad program for aerospace engineering and my minor in microbiology. During this time, there was a HUGE boom in 3d printing prosthetics, pill bottles, toys for kids, toys for tots donations and even cookie cutters.
One of the questions i was asked very often, as i was one who printed hundreds of prothesis for children, was how well can you clean these 3d printed hands? the answer is “very easily” the theory of the layer lines is not an issue as i spent the last 4 years doing research and publishing papers on that very concern.
Its as easy as warm soapy water to wash the part and sprinkle some baking soda on it while you scrub with a cloth… thats it. Now, you CAN soak the part in bleach water afterwards, like we do at food establishments, but it is not required. However, the best method is still to seal the part.
My papers go over nozzle contamination as well, which there is none…
I have 22 publications that have been published in various types of engineering and science through IEEE, Science Direct, SAGE, SAGE London, IREC Africa, NAWE, and a few others. I am also a peer reviewer for SAGE, IEEE, and Web of science.
