PEH and PEI smooth plates

Hi,

I have some smooth plated with PEI and PEH layers and when I set smooth plates / high temp setting in bambulab studio I get bed temp set to 80C

I use Jayo PETG filament and it is stringly even if I set filament temp to 240C as manufacturer says for extruder speed to 100mm/s max.

Any idea what could it be ?
thx

Post the 3mf. And/or check your travel and retraction settings.

Those lines look like the extruder doing a travel, and not being z hopped / retracted during the travel.

Soft Tape Spool - PIP (for rivot and finger tip) v4.stl.3mf (193.6 KB)

here is the file I use.

I’m wondering if it’s not the filament by itself more than the 3d model

This is my rando chinese brand PETG profile.

Opening that, changing nothing, and slicing, i was hoping to see those 4 distinctive parallel lines in travel, but I didnt.

If I turn on travel in the preview, I do see the Z hop for the travels that do get put in, which is good, and another common problem (raking the printed layer).

You have the volumetric flow pretty strongly constrained at 1mm3/s which to me sounds problematic. On my A1 (with a 0.4 nozzle, mind you) I get decent results with flow of 8mm3/s, very low cooling (10% fan), and fast retract (45mm/s), all else held as defaults.

Sorry I couldnt be of much more help. Good luck!

I use the auto calibration for each filament as I often change filaments.
So I guess the 1mm3/s is from that calibration and based on K factor.

this 3d model is from makerworld so I’m not the creator of that piece and I’m still learning with my A1 printer.

Anyway thank you for your time and help
