I’ve been having an issue for the past few days with my P1S where a repeating surface pattern appears on my prints. The pattern is consistent but the spacing changes depending on the model.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Checked and re-tensioned all belts.
Cleaned the extruder gears thoroughly.
Fully calibrated the printer (including flow, bed leveling, etc).
Tested with 5 different filament types and brands (PLA bambu basic, PLA bambu mate, sunlu+, control3d basico and sakata).
Lubricated the Z-axis and linear rails.
The issue persists no matter the filament, print speed, or slicer settings. It shows up clearly on smooth walls and even on infill structures.
Has anyone experienced something similar or found a fix? I’m sharing photos of the defects:
Did that occur after cleaning the z-lead screws?
They can pop out a little doing that, leading to a tilted heat bed and quite a bit of stress. Fortunatly, they can easily be pushed back.
Failing that, you may want to check the heat bed z-screw bearings or may need to gonas far as a bed tramming.
Mhm. That 4mm pitch (measured from the bottom of a peak to the bottom of the next peak) really does point strongly to the lead screws, their seating and or bearings… Belt issues would show as a 2mm pitch while flow/print head issues would be geometry dependant and frequently show a distinct angle.
I would not be surprised if Bambu would ask you to replace the heat bed next. To check those bearings and to release stresses on the bearings. Did you ever loosen the heat bed bearings to relieve stresses?
But thinking more medium term, was your printer still in warranty when you opened the ticket Support? I know from experience that there can be quite a part replacement chain until either the problem is resolved or you run out of patience. A machine replacement may be the better choice.
I sympathize as I have been there myself last year. If you are in Europe, you shouldn’t have a problem re warranty periods. Not sure about other parts of the world though.
In my case, it took 5 months. However, Bambu Support seems to have improved since then. It can still be very frustrating to run the part replacement gauntlet though.
What helped in my case was a TrustPilot review I posted with notification to Bambu. After that, I (politely) pointed out that due to the number of unsuccessful hardware replacement cycles, I need a replacement printer. A slight difference in my case was that it clearly was a lemon as the mainboard blew prior (!) to another part replacement.
A printer replacement under warranty either requires a full-price deposit until the old machine is returned, or using the original packaging to return the printer before they ship a new unit. Both of course need to be agreed with Bambu support.
Hi there wondering did you ever find the solution to this?
i am experiencing the exact same problem repeating pattern only for me it is every 3 mm.
it was printing just fine but half way my last print it started happening have done a few test now but appears to be happening every time now. with different kinds of filament
