PETG-CF with PLA support

I am using a P1S printer with a hardened steel 0.4 nozzle.
I am using Bambu PETG-CF and Bambu PLA in this print.
The problem can be seen in the attached image. The PETG-CF is not adhering at all to the PLA which is acting as my support material for the PETG-CF.
This is my fourth attempt at this and it obviously is not working.

Just use support for PLA/PETG man…

You’re going to have some challenges using PLA for supports for PETG in general. As a support material, it works great. As you’ve discovered the two materials don’t stick together at all.

But…

The PLA has a significantly lower glass transition temp than PETG. When you switch to PLA to print supports, after the build chamber is nice and hot from a bit of PETG printing, you’ll have issues with the PLA jamming in the extruder.

Another issue is purging. You will find that you need a very high purge volume. If even a trace of PLA remains in the extruder when you start printing PETG again, the completed model will be extremely weak and prone to falling apart along that layer line.

I found that for longer prints, they are almost impossible to complete without a jam. And the amount of filament required for successful purges is excessive (purge volumes up around 1500). Gave up. If I need to print something in PETG that absolutely requires supports, I break it up in to separate parts so the supports aren’t needed.

As for the problem you’re having printing PLA on top of PETG, you need to bump the PLA temp up to the max allowable for that filament and slow way down when extruding the interface layer.

Also make certain the interface spacing is set to zero.

Good point. If you don’t want to split them apart then just maybe buy a roll of Support for PLA/PETG
