PETG-HF is back in stock. Is this a new improved formula as rumored?

I loved the colors and finish of the old PETG-HF (it was basically matte PETG) and used it for several tool boxes.

However I found the quality a bit inconsistent. There were a lot of blobbing issues even if dried, and I saw it had been removed from sale for almost a year.

This does not sound like a simple “out of stock” and I suspect they were changing the formula or supplier.

So, what’s the new stuff like?

I will be watching this topic and another regarding bed adhesion. I had 4 rolls in my shopping cart and have not hit the ‘buy’ button due to the thread about poor bed adhesion with new PETG-HF.

I just received 4 spools of PETG-HF. I’ve only tried one (Yellow) but it printed beautifully with the only ‘tuning’ change in the Flow Rate (adjusted +0.036).

I’m using a P1S with Textured PEI plate, 0.04 SS nozzle.

Obviously an extremely small datapoint, but I’m pleased.

I’ve used a couple of filaments from the new batch on my P1S and haven’t noticed any significant difference.

I’ve printed 3 rolls of Black PETG HF and 1 of Dark Gray, and I can’t say I noticed any difference in quality or printing.

We primarily use PETG-HF at work for our prints and since buying the new formula I am less than impressed. Bed adhesion is awful, warping issues for almost every print for files and profiles that printed flawlessly with older spools despite being properly dried.

Its slippery and watery; doesn’t like to stick nearly as well.

I dunno if its a skill issue or they’re cheaping out but time will tell. That said I’m not terribly fond of most bambu filament as it feels oft like they maximise for speed instead of strength. Additionally I find a lot of their filament (their pla basic in particular) has this incredibly perfume-y odor that I think is actually a small amount of styrene fumes likely from “doping”/adulterating it with abs/asa since it reminds me of the same smell from old fashioned carbolic soap.

I’m going to experiment more.

Which Bambu printer is this on, please? I have had bad adhesion with H2D with un-upgraded firmware. With the upgrade the H2D is usable but the adhesion is not quite as good as the P1S or X1C was. It’s something to do with the even-ness of the heated bed. (The H2D is still a better machine than the P1S or X1C however).

X1C. So far on our H2S I’ve had fewer issues overall with the new filament. For the X1Cs after a great deal of troubleshooting, swapping the filament to generic PETG-HF settings in Bambu Studio gave the best results.

Why is most of this out of stock, with it stating it’ll be back in stock mid Sept. Well it’s now Oct 19th, and there’s been zero update.

Has Bambu Labs explained why this has been out of stock for over a month?
