Picked up a kobra 3 combo

I no longer have the K3, but still use it with the S1

I was able to read something about 3D printing and was very surprised.

The S1 combo is on its way to me, even if it actual out of stock but 30 days only look like quick for a printer were users looking for; if the spaghetti monitoring works, the second S1 will be here soon… also, because the X1C starts to making noises that I don’t really want to investigate anymore. The S1 could really become my new 24/7 spaghetti and misprint-monitored workhorse, let’s see. If it will work, a 600 Bugs backup will be ordered quickly since the 24/7 will anyway use 5000 + USD fillament a year and just will run and have to check and ask for help by the printer itself…

Well, I temporary canceled the Solvo SV08 - the supplier pushed the delivery time back again. I’ll still willing to order the SV08, but will wait a bit until the delivery time is less than two months. The size and the Co print attachment are so appealing that I’m willing to tinker a bit for a SV08 but the waiting time and a new branded printer on the way – let’s wait a little because my day has 24 hours only. The Flashfroge AD5X is currently out of stock (as the M5, as soon it`s on the market it is also sold out for a few month…), but since Coprint also has the TPU color change feature on a SV08… well if this is something it is a littel thinker will bring something really unike problem solver with acceptable effort since it may will solve all the remainig tasks

A small note since lasers are a topic for some: There’s a new THEO laser welder. $9,000 for the small one, $20,000 for the large one—could really be something, I will take a look for the workshop. Of course, nobody here will be interested in that but I don’t need a Tesla cybertruck with H2D sticker on it. And I won’t replace my car with it as i dont want replace my X1C with an H2D. Happy for thos how like it, but it has nothing to do with an X1C replaicment

S1 is ok but not really great, it’s not anywhere near the quality of the X1C, it’s closer to the P1S, but still not as “sharp” on the details (and yes I have all of them not just making assumptions)

Your statement matches what I’ve seen and heard. :+1:

I don’t make parts for showcase; for allmoste all of the printes, you’re at least a meter away if you look at, if do not even stand outside 30m away to look at in an industrial site. And the printer will print for more than 5000 USD fillaments a year. On the otherhand, actual I just print 4kg left PETG of Bambulab and the matirial just getting problems - hopefully I getting quick back to my standart PETG and I getting spool by spool remindert way I leaft bambu.

The S1 Printer really have to work for 8 - 30 hours for them self and the spaghetti has to be recognized by the printer itself because someone might not look at it again until two or three days.

The SV08 will also be a bit more expensive, probably around $1,500 with the additional housing, co-print, etc. I’m kind of really keen on it again, and the solutions it will offer are worth something. The size will also consume power. So it has to be a problem-solver, but it also a printer that rarely runs and will cost something. So if something is happen, it need to be repared.

The X1C is great, but the tinkering with it when problems arise (albeit rarely) is starting to get a bit of a pain. It’s too cramped, too hidden, and there’s too much electronics tucked away somewhere in the back where it’s hard to get to. And ultimately, and finay, too expensive for just throw it away and just getting a new one. I m also still below printerversion 1.7 since I scarry to update because I’m afraid of updating it and something will not working anymore. I’m also not the person who threatens like, “If you do not do it then” - because if the opportunity arises, they anyway will do what ever they want. So I m not the person how talks, I just cut of as quick as I get the option as they do as sone they get the option…

Have you updated to firmware 2.5.0.6 on your S1?

Just did mine last night. Have tried it yet, but I’m hoping by the firmware description of updating logical load and unload of filament, that it no longer cycles through every freaking roll of filament before it starts to print.

I’m not sure why anyone would compare a sub 400.00 printer to an X1C, expecting it to be anywhere similar. It is pretty close in print quality to my P1S. Only complaints I have about it are the filament management (hopefully fixed now), and Anycubic’s lack of availability for the 8 port hub. I’m not a fan of the 3d printed hubs, I’ve tried two, they’re just not smooth enough in the throat.

yep already updated, it is indeed better on that front, however they have decreased the filament loading speed quite a bit as well. And i’m still struggling with slot 3, that always pushes the filament out of the path during loading, pretty annoying it takes a couple of tries when loading new roll

then the quality is decent sure, it’s not a bad printer, but definitely not as polished, i get weird errors (that go way with turning it off and on again) today i ran a print and at first it was complaining about something on the nozzle, but it was fine, power cycling solved it

I hadn’t experienced any unusual errors yet. I bought a pair of combos intending to use the current model ace’s on one machine and my original Ace on the other. I’m down to just an ace per machine after having an issue with a printed 8 port hub. The filament apparently caught an edge in the hub, the Ace wadded the filament inside the hub like bent wire and eventually popped the the hub apart…

The Kobra 3 was my first Anycubic. The S1 is so much more polished, if I didn’t own a Bambu, I’d think the S1 was the pinnacle of 3D printers, it’s so much quieter than the Kobra 3

Way compairing it to an X1C - may for the same reason way you can’t compare a P1S to an X1C.

Print error monitoring and display.

Display because people earn an hourly wage (don’t spend there free time judging a 3D printand and a display costs nothing) and monitoring to ensure that every 50th or 100th filament spool doesn’t cause a disaster (with Bamboo filament, the average is probably much lower).

Got a chance to try out the S1’s with the new firmware. Extremely pleased to see the printers no longer cycling through all filament rolls before going to the chosen roll to print with.

I contacted anycubic about the lack of availability of the 8 port hub, they told me it should be available this month.

@h3li0 , have you updated to 2.5.1.6 yet? Just noticed it yesterday, wondering if it’s a good firmware update, doesn’t mess with Ace loading?

haven’t tried it yet, to be honest i haven’t printed much with the S1 recently

Something kinda cool and welcome in the 2.5.1.6 firmware is the new calibration menu. Still have the option to run each individual calibration, but now they’ve included a full calibration that runs them all consecutively.

Having one calibrate now, then send a print to try it out.

For the S1 or the Bedslinger?

I haven’t had a chance to set it up yet. It’s not quite finished, but the X1C isn’t either.

Now a Joke. Sorry, I just have to get off of this

I like the printer door; it fits and is functional. The color even matches the Double sided shatter-proof glass Door with its 3-point heavy-duty locking and biometric access control.

Doesn’t quite match the heater in terms of color but goes well with the dryer with cooling and heating.

This will Hardly anyone understand - perhaps may German homeowners who know how much just the little blue light on the front door will costs and know how quality looks like. Yes, I like quality but I just pay if I get what I need. Can I afford a H2D, I think so. Do I like one - No.

cool, will try it out later today then

Only briefly and certainly incomplete. Certainly an option for the X1C and the Flashforge M5.

Advantages over the X1C:

Cheaper, more shatter-resistant door.

Cons:

Quality (in my case almost always negligible).

Maintenance, even worse accessibility than the X1C. Display above the top flap, exchange system now on 4 hoses (has also advantages) and connector hoses are even smaller (harder to open). Door still opens around 90° as on the X1C and so on.

Advantages over the M5:

AI, spaghetti detection, first layer testing (but probably not finished).
More optimized Workflow during Printing

Cons:

Maintenance, spare parts availability, etc.

Conclusion:

In my case, the X1C is in the last few cases of me, with little pain and few disadvantages, now dispensable. For the optimum which I like to work with, all three machines are still require. An Artillery M1 Plus and a Flashforge AD5X will may bring some add. with relief on more income or rejected orders, but that’s not urgent.

Final conclusion, Solution found and from my side no more 3D printer research needed :rainbow:

Only thing I’ve noticed, both of mine, after full calibration, left bed temp at 60 and one of the rear fans was on, though menu showed 0 rpm.

Power off/on took care of fan.

Anycubic Kobra 3 Max is nice, all of my prints have been flawless.

Looking at your pic, I’d suggest you lower your volumetric speed and relevel your bed.

After a new nozzle and hot bed, printer was much better. It’s gone though, on to the S1, which has been far superior.

Yes, I also look at and for sure something worth to look at. The metal rails and non-slip plastic wheels, probably important for the size. Size is becoming an issue anyway, going from 220 to 256 was nice, I think going up to 300 or even 330 will be much better and maybe 450 will be a bit better maybe too much - we’ll see, I just don’t know yet but i think it will be 330. They just delifer so long god things.

I still don’t fully understand why the ACE for the Bedslinger and the S1 are sold differently.

The Anycubic Slicer Next slicer can’t keep up with the Orca, so I’m currently working with USB again. Should work but USB works too and it`s anyway on the way to the coffee machine

TPU is open (not blocked) on the S1’s ACE; I haven’t gotten around to it yet.

S1 Turning off the ACE activates the external supply of filament.

Working was a bit awkward at first, but it’s gotten much more comfortable.

Likewise, the S1 makes a quieter impression than the X1C at least many other noises went away. However, in this case a printer with a few thousand hours on his shlouders stands beside a new one…
