This is interesting and now I am going to have to do some research, because I use a lot of Bambu Lab Glow Flament and have never had an issue, but it does appear that several people have mentioned wear issues as being the problem, but both of my AMS units aren’t showing any wear at all but I only have 42 hours on one and 400 hours on my other unit, but niether one shows any wear issues at all so I will count my bkessings and hope this issue isn’t really a specific issue with their PLA Glow filament because I love the stuff.
Someone mentioned that it could be in the re-winding of the spool where a lot of the wear happens due to the extra tension, and so if you do multi-colour stuff with glow, it may significantly increase the wear rate. Are you doing a lot of filament changes with glow?
Yes, I do a lot of muticolor printing with Bambu’s Glow Filament. I have stuck to Bambu Lab’s approved lost when using filament in my AMS units. If there is even a question on whther it is supported then I use the external filament feed.
Have printed 8+ spools of pla glow with zero issues of ams funnels getting worn out (just checked). Bought printer on kickstarter deal, 2126 print hours.
I use eds_3d_shop AMS feeders and cleaners. They are not mods, but simple clip-on pieces that massively improve AMS feeder performance, keeping the filament dust free before it is fed and provide good relief for the filament as it enters the funnel. These would not void your warranty as they are not mods, in the big sense of the word, but more akin to being helpers. They work and are great,

@teddy.mcsnuggins Welcome back to the forum. I wasn’t aware you had the power to speak for Bambu Labs. However, I’d prefer to see it writing from BL. Until then, it’s still just hearsay. And it doesn’t matter what any of us say one way or the other.
You have a valid point to the “no-mod” modification, and I use it myself. But I’m willing to forgo the warranty for the sake of my arthritis and a better wear point for all four of my AMS units.
