So I am attempting to make UV resin filled earrings and pendants in gold filament, using PLA. I found that it tends to warp if its thin. Will PETG be better for this? If not, what other filament comes in gold and silver that will be less likely to warp? The UV resin appears to have just enough shrink when curing that is pulling the sides up.
PLA is actually stiffer than PETG. In fact, regarding stiffness, PLA is actually pretty good. The only filaments I can see in my Bambu comparison chart with a higher stiffness are all carbon or glass filled.
Can you consider a higher wall thickness? Or a different filler resin? Wouldn’t a solid printed infill fulfill the same purpose?

I did something similar this year with breast cancer awareness pins. They turned out great with PLA. I know you don’t want them too bulky since they’re jewelry but could you make the walls a tiny bit thicker?
For long time stability I would use ABS. PLA will suffer with sun and become fragile.
They are only about 1 mm thick, so going to try going to 2mm, any thicker and they would be a bit too heavy for earrings. Does ABS come in the gold and silver that I can get in PLA?
Looks like Sunlu has both, and Polymaker has a gold…
I’ll give the Sunlu a try, I finally got one of my H2’s vented externally for ABS.
Will make for an interesting prop cone too.

A few of the finished ones that came out OK. I discovered why they were warping. I use a reflow torch, a mini heat gun, to pop the bubbles in the resin before I hit it with UV. I was getting it too close, and thats where the warps came from. I turned the heat down on it and was able to get the next ones to work OK. I also increases the thickness to 2mm which helped, but a could designs are too fragile and break when trying to remove them. The Womenz in the family are loving them.
