I just use the same material. It’s faster. Then I sand the area the supports clung to. I have never had luck using “support for pla” as I ended up with a part that was so littered with white support pieces that I had to trash the parts. So I trashed the “support for pla” to free up the reusable spool.
Using petg as support for pla or vice versa, well same problem. I ended up with parts with tons of different colored specs stuck to it. People say that petg and pla doesn’t stick to each other. They say it all the time. But I’m here to tell you I have printed 1/12 scale miniatures using translucent petg and pla and the parts always stick together. I dropped the parts and they were still stuck together.
So I really do not understand how people use petg for support for pla. I’ve tried numerous settings and the petg ends up with pieces stuck in the pla. At least when I use pla supports for pla anything that gets stuck is the same color.
