Hello everyone,
I tried printing a Benchy in silk PLA with a 0.2 mm nozzle, expecting extreme smoothness, but instead I got a worse result than most of the ones I printed with a 0.4 mm nozzle. Also, the bottom part has a weird texture. I imagine
this specific issue could be resolved by printing in silent mode (50% speed), but that would make printing with a 0.2 mm nozzle highly impractical. Are there any other settings I can tweak?
Was a combo for me. Start with running a pressure calibration and turning off dynamic pressure, along with slowing way down for over hangs with higher fan speeds then recommended to prevent the evil curling as silk likes to reach for the sky when over hanging witch causes ugly over extrusion on following layers, I also started printing at way lower temps to also fight this. Its a balance between layer adhesion and getting that meterial to harden fast enough, that intern weakens the layer adhesion. So good luck.
