Plates not detected - layer check stuck

My X1C is driving me crazy…
But only since now.

Last week I was printing some things.
When I started a new job, the plate was not detected.
I cleaned the lens in the toolhead, changed the side of the plate and switched to all my oder original Bambu plates. Nothing. No detection.

I disabled the detection.
Now the printer is freezing after 1st layer check.

I disabled the layer check and now it’s printing.
But this is only a workarround.

What could it be?
LiDAR system failed?

That is unfortunately what it sounds like to me you might get ahold of support so they can check the logs to make sure.

What is the error message you are getting?

I am having issues with the Lidar as well. No amount of lens cleaning get’s rid off the “clean lens” error.
I may try rolling back 2 firmware updates to see if it is related to that once the christmas printing is done.
Gonna check the Lidar first though by taking a video of the Lidar calibration routine. The projected line is visible on video but not the naked eye.

:crossed_fingers: & :four_leaf_clover:

None  it only freezes and thats it after the message, that the plate is not detected

I don’t own a X1C but P1S and H2D and on both it’s not the toolhead camera that does plate check but the main camera, isn’t it the same on the X1?

Have you clean the main camera lens?

No, the X1C is unique in it using images of a tight LED line projected onto the filament to do flow dynamics calibration and 1st layer inspection. In my personal experience, it is far superior to anything I can achieve in manual filament calibration.
But the system is a bit complex/expensive. So Bambu came up with the integrated nozzle pressure sensor for the A-series and beyond which allowed them to do away with the Lidar.

Nevertheless,

is still a very good point indeed.

With Bambu churning out new product ranges, I would not be surprised if the small dev teams would be loosing sight of what to them must be “legacy” products. With the frequent firmware updates, some virtual wire crossing may well have happened
I’ll give it a try once the current PrintU X-mass present plate is finished. 2 more days… Hope my H2C ships a little before its 23 Dec ETD :joy:

I get it for flow calibration but plate detection may be different but I did not read the wiki  .

Have you upgraded to FW 01.11.00.00 ? If so it had a plate detection bug. I reverted back to 01.10.00.00 and all is good. Supposedly 01.11.02.00 fixes this but I’ve not tried it.

Yes, it also uses the toolhead camera for plate identification.

I am on 01.11.02.00. But I do not have the issue with the plate detection. Only the Lidar lens being reported as dirty despite repeated and thorough cleaning.
Still 2 days, 3h, 36 min until I can have a look at the issue again though :joy:

OMG.

Fixed everything. So I have to return my order from Bambu - sorry!
