Please any help with this SVG Print

Been Trying some SVG prints with mixed results and a lot of frustration so any help would be greatly appreciated. Printing on carbon with 2 ams setup and pla. On this print both svg and model were flat on the bed. The box top is supposed to be flat but i am not too concerned about that part. You can see the outer ridge is higher than the infill and the SVG. I was really close to getting this print to work but this happened….Any insights or help Thanks JIM

Hi Jim,

I’m going to take a wild guess that the model is meant to be printed with the happy horn dude on the top, not the bottom. Most of the filament of the box top got extruded over thin air, which doesn’t make good support material (unfortunately). The edges are probably OK because they’re raised in the design, so formed at least some kind of first layer to work upon. Or just the wall loops were enough to provide some support.

See Not Completely Filled for a similar issue.

I kinda like the “woven basket” effect of the loose filament strands though!

Cheers,
