I think Bambu lab actually sent out a request to change this practice quite a while ago, but I’m not sure what came of that as it was a part of the “Stop using trademarked labels in your models names and descriptions” so it may have gotten lost in the shuffle.
In any case, this is an open letter to all of you creators by a fellow enthusiast… Please, for the love of everything holy STOP calling everything you upload the “ULTIMATE” (whatever it is) That word is so overused at this point that it’s meaningless. The main purpose it serves right now (to me) is to warn me not to waste my time and keep scrolling until I find something useful. It’s unfortunate as I’m sure that there are some of those uploads that contain useful collections of X or even great original designs, but they are getting lost in the crowd of ridiculous and exaggerated claims.
There are 814 “Ultimate” models out there as of this moment, probably even more considering spelling errors and variants from other languages. If you think the “U” word will bring you more clicks and views, I suspect it’s having the opposite effect and an accurate straightforward title would benefit you more and help us to see you as a contributor and what you actually have to share.
It’s so overused at this point it’s pretty much a guarantee that whatever the actual model(s) are, they are not to be the ultimate anything. Personally, I don’t even read past the word ultimate most of the time since so many of them are such low effort uploads. Even worse, since we have makers from all over the globe translating your descriptions and trying to find things, so this just makes it harder for people like you and I to find and appreciate your creations and efforts of like minded people all over the world.
So my (unsolicited) advise and plea for all you awesome folks out there is to lay off the exaggerations and just tell us what you have for us in the title, with a keyword or two explaining what sets your effort apart from other similar designs or collections so we can actually find your upload and get a chance to appreciate the effort you have put in on it.
If you honestly feel like you have the “ultimate” version of something, then tell us about it in the description and why it is that you think it’s so great! Let us know who you think will benefit from your efforts and why! Most of us who are passionate about our hobbies or who have an expertise in a topic are going to appreciate a fellow enthusiast who takes the time and effort to pull together like items and share what they have come up with by customizing or curating them to give other people with similar interests a head start in their journey.
TL/DR: It’s not the “Ultimate” anything and words like that make it more difficult to connect with your people. Help us find you!
But yours is the first ultimate model. Does not count. It only counts when you do a V2 and call it “Ultimate” and then a V3 and “Even More Ultimate” and when finally you think it’s the final version, you call it “The Final Ultimate Mate Ultimate”
The detailing looks very nice, ultimately though you would have to just walk up to the target and start getting stabby with it. (Although if you were REALLY good with lawn darts you might be able to toss it up real high and hope they don’t move their head. That mass and momentum would definitely give someone a brief but painful headache.
I would allow them to use word Ultimate for their design but next words should be mandatory followed by either : Junk, Rubish, Trash design of ( whatewer they cal lit )
That actually makes me want to start labeling my designs as “absolute rubbish” or “Ultimately a disappointment” etc just to see what happens with their popularity. I’d probably have to upload more of them to have a better sample size, Can’t decide if people would pick up on the irony and look at them, or if they would be “Thank you for saving my time, glad I don’t actually have to look at this thing.
think downloads would skyrocket - the naming would have the opposite effect as intended. But for sake of Scinece i wil upload 1 or to models named like this
