PLZ help with 2 color print NO ams

My daughter wants me to print a specific thing for her boyfriend for Christmas. It is fairly simple except that it has 3 different colors. One of the layers is very small but it’s among other layers.

It mainly has a black background, then a small layer of red, finishing with gray. (image & link below)

I do not have an AMS and was wondering if somebody could Point me towards a quality tutorial on how to achieve this? In the past I’ve tried a couple of other tutorials and they were not very detailed and I couldn’t get it to really work properly.

Thank you!

Since the colors are on some of the same layers it will not be as easy as adding a pulse to switch colors. This is how I do this on my P1S (no AMS):

  • Have the colors needed in the filament section of the project in Studio
  • Slice the file. There should be a prime tower placed on the print bed.
  • Use the vertical slider to find the layers that need a color change.
  • Make note of the print order of the colors
  • Print the file and monitor (babysit) until the head moves to the prime tower to purge.
  • Pause the print and perform a manual color change
  • Rinse and repeat until all color changes are completed

I hope this boyfriend is worth the hassle.
