Poops analysis - just for fun

The left one was purging when when print start, the rest was purging when changing filament during print. Some from a few failed prints because of dirty bed. Retract 18mm before cutting filament is on.

This is PETG from noname chinese brand XVICO (warehouse clearance AU$8/roll)

My temp setting:

  • Bed 80°C
  • 1st layer 255°C
  • other layer 265°C
  • Chamber temperature recorded 42°C, close door, lid removed.

I have to slow down printing speed by half compare to PLA or ABS to get good layer adhesion.

What I can say is, black one solidifies quicker than white one, which is more desirable for printing. The white poops looks very similar to the transparent poops of the same brand, balling up instead of coiling. The white filament is almost translucent. I can still see vagued honeycomb infill through 1mm thick bottom.

Both rolls went into air fryer for over 10 hours @70°C before test print. Additionally, the white one went in air fryer for extra 8 hours last week.

The result of the print is okay. There is stringing, but not that bad.

Unfortunately, the scarf joint is terrible (orca slicer). I might turn off scarf joint or go back to bambu studio.

I guess the filament is this bad so that nobody bought it.

This information is just for fun though

Strange Orca had scarf seams working real good on Bambu i think it started to work properly with the latest update.
