A1 Mini
Textured PEI plate
eSUN Basic PLA - calibrated according to this procedure
I printed this part yesterday without changing any of the project settings. There is some weird surface defect only present consistently on one side. The other side is much better, albeit also a bit defective on the very edge.
The part is printed layed down on its small angled side, I’ve attached some slicer screenshots. I had no problem with first layer adhesion, there are no supports and you can see that the rest of the part is flawless.
The only difference in that area is speed and flow, I assume due to it being an overhang. The rest of the parameters are the same across the part.
This area is also not the first to be printed in each layer. I’ve attached a screenshot where it shows that the outer wall is the second line to be printed in each layer.
The seam is also on the other side, which is significantly of better quality.
The only thing I can assume, is that the fact that the speed changes drastically at this edge to start printing the overhang causes this issue.
What could be the reason for this? I would say that this is a setting somewhere, but since the other side printed more-or-less perfectly, I cannot understand this.
The part is functional, I already use it, but I want to better understand which settings could improve/fix such issues.
The printer is in a room with an open window, but the internal door is closed during the print so there is no draft that might affect it.
