They could possibly use an existing design (like the A1 mini) and throw another motor or two on the print head. It isn’t an entirely new concept as Polar 3D printers have done it for some time now.
Well, the issue is on software side, it’s easy to make hardware, but software is on a very difficult side. No one has made reliable software that could handle 5 axis.

The main Problem is the Kinematic on all 5 Axis to each other (Tool Center Point) and the Program (Slicer) to give it out. It´s to hard for me to explain in english but i am working since over 20 years on 5-axis mill´s so i know the problems…even after a crash ![]()
Apart from the H2D, the 4 (and 5) axis system playbook already exists. Polar 3D printers have been doing it for decades, and CNC machines for even longer. The only issue would be adding a lot more data to the gcode to handle non planar movements, so more processing power and storage would be needed, but that is negligible. And I think I found a solution the the H2D problem…
