Possible Blockage?

At my work, we’ve been feeding the machine PLA filament (Bambu and the Hatchbox). Everything was working well, then we did a few prints using ABS to make some glow-in-the-dark creations. Now our printer keeps getting an error message; HMS_07FE-8000-0002-0001: The lifting action is abnormal during the extruder switch. Please check whether the flow blocker is stuck or there is filament stuck in the toolhead.

We tried to disassemble the the H2D using the Extruder Disassembly and Assembly Guide on the wiki. We got to removing the extruder front cover, but it was completely jammed in. We also noticed when pushing in the black hot end connector that it wouldn’t budge.

Is it possible when we heated up the ABS filament it caused it to flow into the other nozzle? Or is it we left it at the higher temperature and the PLA we switched back to flowed around? Is this something that can be fixed, or do we need to send it back to Bambu for inhouse repairs?

If you have not already, I would take apart the filament guide (lower part of the extruder) and make sure it is clear and free from filament debris in its filament path. Its common if you go from printing ABS (or another high temp material) to PLA without letting it cool down to jam the extruder and/or filament guide. That can cause the lifting mechanism to malfunction, as there is a part of the filament guide that is spring loaded. You dont need to do a full extruder disassembly for it, it comes off with 3 or 4 screws depending on which revision you have.

It was a blockage in both the tube leading to the extruder and the extruder itself. The only way of fixing it was completely dissembling the extruder and then pulling out the blockage.
