Post bed collision recalibration? Hotend too high now?

Yesterday I was manually moving the bed while cleaning and lubricating. I totally misread the warning about homing beforehand and dismissed it. While going up, I didn’t realize the machine buffers presses and it hit the right hotend. MANY TIMES. Ugh.

I believe that this either bent something or, best case, made a calibration necessary. I say this because I can’t get anything to print on the right side. Tried multiple filaments and multiple hotends. Either … the first layer doesn’t stick or if it does, the print fails shortly after. What I THINK I’m seeing is the nozzle is too high. The filament isn’t pressed down firmly. Prints that fail after the first layer are covered in spaghetti and dragged off the bed. It even ripped the silicone end off an extrude, tearing it.

I have tried at least 6 times to do the extruder calibration (2 filaments) but I can’t even get past the first couple of layers without it pulling the print off so I aborted each one.

Any suggestions?

On the printer, I would go to settings, calibration, and print calibration and run that. Maybe it will reset things for ya.

This was a perfect storm. After doing an unneeded maintenance, which included the mentioned collision, I assumed that the collision was the culprit. Another factor in the storm was that my precision calibration included two nozzle sizes. I completely disassembled the head for my first time and found nothing. Over one full day of trying to resolve this.

I had no idea that this printer had been recording video. I watched all of the failures and noticed something. It looked like a bed adhesion issue. The it hit me. The last step of my “preventive maintenance” was to wash the plate in the kitchen. I had used the same brush that we use for dishes. Contamination???

I re-washed the plate by hand with dish soap and BAM!!! Back in business.

Again, I am an idiot.
