20 minutes before the end of my 3-day printing, the power went out and 1 hour later it came back and the printing jumped to the remaining parts without starting exactly where it left off. The parts I made for nesting in my model were not glued and they broke off quite easily. I glued them with glue, but I didn’t like this at all. This power outage is the first time this has happened to me and what can be done for the non-stick problem that occurs for this reason? Thanks!!!
My guess is that the print cooled enough during the hour the power was out that the part shrank enough that when it resumed printing there was a larger gap between the last layer and the current layer. This resulted in the poor layer adhesion between the sections.
Plugging the printer into a UPS on long print jobs can help to avoid similar issues. The problem is that you would need a substantially sized UPS to power the printer for over an hour. If power outages are a common thing you might look at getting a backup generator?
