Um, I had a 4 hour print, and halfway power went down. I had no problems as Bambulab said the A1 mini has power save feature to resume after power outage. But, to my surprise it didn’t and it was like I had turned it off and on again with no print on it, just like it was never printing. Whats happening. My print also took loads of PLA filament. Please help, what could I do to get the Power Save feature working.
This was the first time printer experienced power outage. But it had another soon also while printing.
Thanks in advance for any help to this topic, really want my Power Save feature back on track for this printer, it never worked and had for like a few days when first outage took place.
I let it be, but it I have had enough of this after almost a year of using it. Never got the feature to work, could not find anywhere like my situtation.
Since the printer was plugged in, didn’t it start automatically when the power came on?
You should have received a prompt in the printer display as follows:
I didn’t receive any prompt, it just started on again because it had the power switch in on mode. I didn’t get any prompt to continue my print, it just showed me the home screen like nothing had happened, not even a print, it didn’t even have a print job anymore.
What can I do to fix this without Bambu support getting involved, I ran these tests on my own as they and nothing happened. I want to fix this without contacting Bambu support or them getting involved, I want to fix it on my own. Is it a software issue or hardware one, just need a starting point, then I can do my own research from there.
I don’t know…
The feature should be enabled from the start, so I can guess that your printer has some faulty firmware or hardware, or it can be something else I am unaware of.
In any case, BL support has access to features you don’t, as the ability to read and assess the logs, which may help them identify the culprit.
Firmware → is up to date? You can revert the firmware within a limited number of versions and see if it improves. You can ultimately reset the printer to factory state. I am not aware of any other actions you can take as user.
Hardware → If the issue relates to faulty components, there are some most probable ones. But you would need to have spares of all of them at hand, follow the replacement process and retest. Besides the added cost, there is no certainty of success, and you also increase the chance of damaging something. But this is, of course, your decision.
Thanks, my firmware on the printer is up date it says its latest version, and printer is connected to wifi, so I don’t think it’s outdated firmware that causes the problem.
The printer runs fine though there are no mechanical issues or mishaps, the only feature so far that I have found to be not working is this power save one.
But, as I said previously I want to do the most I can before contacting BL support, and try to troubleshoot myself or even fix it if I can.
