power switch failed after 6636 hours. i was printing a job and went to check on it and the power was off. the power switch was on but no power. i hit the power switch and notice that just touching turn it back on. touching was enough to turn it on or off while the switch was on. printer printing was enough to shack the switch and turn it off while running.
i setup a ticket and the switch isn’t in the store so they had to ship one to me.
now i need to take it a part and replace the switch.
Is there a question here or are you just complaining?

I would like to know why it failed. This is something that should not really fail … at all.
Not in this case, but in general:
It’s a mechanical switch that can wear out over time. This is especially the case if it is constantly switched too slowly, because unnecessary sparks are generated inside each time. Negative effects can also be caused by external influences such as moisture or dust (woodworking).
no and no. just sharing the hours and what happen. so other that might have the issue know what to look for.

It’s probably because the power supply in the Printer just got overrun so it shut down and doesn’t work.
Thanks for sharing. Pretty sure I got exactly the same issue. It took a while for me to pin it to the switch, but it’s indeed “touchy” and i noticed that enabling bed levelling would make the printer shut down more in the beginning of the print. I am going to replace the switch and report back.
But it is indeed, realistically very much can happen (ie mechanical failure), I doubt that’s some high-end switch there.
its a bit of work to take a part to get too, and you have to take the side off, i used a wedge to hold open the side. some the grounds are on the inside of the side panel and some are on in the inside of the back so you might not have to remove the side.

power supply was or is fine. its working good now that i replace the switch.
Following up on switch replacement effect.
Replacing the switch resolved the issue, haven’t had any shutdowns for a week.
A note, when I opened the device up, I noticed that it was possible the spade mounts on the switch wires that got loose, and there is a high chance that just reinforcing the spade connectors for tighter fit would have solved it, but since i got the switch assembly already, i just replaced the switch.
Rest assured, please remember that you are dealing with connection to mains there and you must take the utmost care with it.
