Pre-heating chamber stops (P2S)

Hi, my P2S Combo is located in a room with 10-15 degree C.

So before printing (especially with ABS) I preheat the chamber, by turning on the heatbed (setting temperature to 100degC), like this:

But after about 5 minutes it turns off the heating

So I need to sit and monitor Bambu Studio and repeat setting the headbed to 100deg every 5 minutes for half an hour to reach a nice chamber temperature. I have tried setting the heatbed temperature directly on the screen of the printer, but that also lasts only 5 minutes.

So is this an error or is this as expected?
Are there an easier way to pre-heat the chamber where I don’t need to turn on the heatbed over and over?

My H2D is on a non heated room at 10C and I never monitor anything, like press print and let the printer deal with the preheat. Isnt the same in the P2S? Why are you manually waiting?

There is a setting under safety options that you need to uncheck about the heatbed.

This way it will stay at the required temperature, for as long as you let it

You’re welcome. I came across the exact same issue when I got my P2S.
Another tip: if you put a heavy blanket over the P2S, you can even get it to a stable 60 deg Celsius (about 140 F i believe). All my ABS prints have turned out flawless so far.

The Preheat chamber setting in Bambu Studio is missing for me in 2.5.0.66. Do you all have it available? I’m using a P2S.

Welcome to the forum.

The P2S doesn’t have a camber heater like the H series so there will be no setting. You can manually preheat the chamber by turning on the bed fully.

Thanks for the follow up. I get it now. The P2S does have a chamber heat sensor but lacks an active heater. I thought that BS would allow me to set a desired chamber temp, use the heatbed for passive heating of the chamber, and then start the print when chamber temp was at my desired temp.

I’ll just have to force it through Gcode.

I don’t think Studio recognizes the chamber temp parameter for printers without a built-in heater, so you might have some trouble working around that issue.

OrcaSlicer will recognize the chamber temp sensor on the X1C, but it requires using LAN-only and Developer modes on the printer. I don’t know if Bambu Connect would let it work in cloud mode.

Hm. I’ve never tried preheating. I’m running into an issue where it says the chamber is 4C but it errors out saying chamber temp too high :frowning:

Did this work? Do you just set desired chamber temp in the filament settings? Does it slow the cooling fans so it stays hot?
