Premium price, immediate devaluation: why my trust in Bambu Lab was damaged

I bought my Bambu Lab H2D Combo on November 6th, 2025, from 3DLAB, an official reseller in Brazil, paying R$ 22,149.00 during Black Friday.

At launch in Brazil, the H2D was priced around R$ 24,500.00. Soon after, it dropped to R$ 21,149.00, which I accepted as part of normal promotions.

What became unacceptable was what happened next.

Less than 60 days later, after the launch of the Bambu Lab H2C, the H2D price fell again across official Brazilian resellers to approximately R$ 19,100.00.

In less than two months, the same flagship machine moved through three price levels:

  • R$ 24,500.00

  • R$ 21,149.00

  • R$ 19,100.00

This means an immediate loss of around R$ 2,000 to R$ 3,000 for customers who trusted the brand and bought early.

This is not normal product aging or long-term depreciation. The H2D is still a current premium model, but its value was aggressively reduced because BambuLab introduced new variants too quickly.

The message to early buyers becomes very clear:

buying early means paying more while others benefit weeks later.

I contacted BambuLab directly, explained the situation, and after delays they promised filaments as compensation.

Months passed.

Nothing arrived.

No compensation, no effective solution.

What disappoints me most is not only the financial loss, but the feeling that early adopters were penalized instead of valued.

For a premium brand, trust matters as much as technology.

Right now, my feeling is simple:

BambuLab did not reward loyalty — it punished it. :warning:

Sorry for the bad experience, in Brazil you really are paying a premium price so I can understand your frustration.

Aside from rectifying how they handled your support experience, if you were Bambu Lab what would you have done differently so that this “devaluation” didn’t occur?

They priced in the US based upon covering some of the ’tariffs’ they anticipated. And have since lowered the price considerably here too. Yes, early buyers pay a premium. Just a cost of jumping. I bought one (H2D) at roughly the third shipment to the US and Yes, I’m out 10% or so from where it is currently priced. It ain’t just Brazil. And while I like it, I would have most likely bought the H2C if I had really known it would ship only a couple of months after the H2D. The H2D is now the ‘flagship’ that is being discounted. I’ll wager in June you will see another 10% off sale.

I’m not sure that is true, if I recall correctly they only raised their prices after the tariffs were imposed, are you sure?

Same thing. Price went up, came back down and is now discounted further. I paid $2599, was offered at $2699 now being sold for $2269. This is the TWO ams 2 bundle. And from original cost is 14% discounted, not 10%

TL;DR: Apple tax. High price for a lifestyle gadget. In marketing, it’s intended to polarize people [creates free evangelists and aggrieved, both are valuable assets for social virality], and they get to maximize profits too.

Maybe you’ll get your money back when Bambu gets their tariff refund check, I’m sure they plan on returning it to us instead of just keeping it.

What a strange post - it’s riddled with misinformation and blames Bambu Lab for the problems instead of the reseller and the government.

But let’s start from the beginning. The price fluctuates. Right now, it’s almost back to the average price on the shop page you mentioned. So why is this being deliberately hushed up in this discussion? R$21,299.00

Why does the price fluctuate so much? Ultimately, it depends on the reseller - when, how, and where they order the goods. Furthermore, regarding the currency itself: The Brazilian currency fluctuates wildly because it is tied to the dollar.

Depending on the retailer, if the goods are imported from the U.S. (or not), taxes may be added on top, depending on the situation.

Is that annoying? Yes, but that can happen with any imported product, especially when a government is so dependent on dollar. It’s just one of the downsides of having such a weak currency (BRL) or, rather, to be so dependent on the dollar. In addition, Brazil was also hit hard by the U.S. tariffs.

You can be mad at Bambu now and post negative comments everywhere, but if you’d checked the forum beforehand, you’d know that some countries - including Brazil - have this problem all the time. It’s nothing new; it’s just part of everyday life. A post about it pops up here every few months.

If you want to be mad at anyone, it should be your reseller, who apparently bought the goods at too high a price, as well as your government. That’s actually the end of the story. Ask yourself why Brazil is hit so hard by U.S. tariffs, and then you’ll understand why your prices fluctuate.

Sarcasm: “But it’s just easier to be mad at a company, even though I can understand that

16k right now.

Official resellers in Brazil keep changing the price from month to month. Until last Friday, it had dropped to R$19,000. Now it is back to R$21,000. But as you can see from the link, several sellers are offering it for R$16,000.

I paid R$21,000 when the printer had originally been R$24,000. Just five days after my purchase, the price went up again and then later dropped dramatically after the launch of the Bambu Lab H2C.

What is really at stake here is how a serious company can allow prices to fluctuate like this, leaving consumers completely unable to understand what the real market value is.

You invest a huge amount of money without knowing whether the price will be cut again shortly after.

This cannot be treated as normal fluctuation — this is disrespect toward the customer. :warning:

in Brazil

Should you not take this issue up with your reseller? It’s the reseller changing the price, not Bambu.

Some resellers will lower the price on their web page when they don’t have it in stock and raise it when they do. The reason being if they can make more sales (with longer delivery time) they can accept a lower margin because they have not paid for the machines themselves at that point. Once they are sunk cost in their warehouse they can put the price up to maximise the margin on the money they have already spent.

I think the main problem is that you don’t know what a reseller is, or that they aren’t directly involved with Bambu. You could apply the same issue you’re having to any product that’s imported into your country. You can get as upset as you want and post as many comments as you like, but at the end of the day, your problem is a reseller’s problem.

Have you contacted your reseller yet?

That’s how the story should actually start. If I buy a Sony TV in Europe and the price fluctuates, I don’t just call Sony directly to complain - or Samsung, or Apple. That’s not disrespect toward customers; it’s called market price fluctuation, currency exchange rates, and tariffs. Annoying? Sure, but you’re barking up the wrong tree without even realizing it.

What did the reseller say about your complaint? After all, you signed the contract with them. I think the real issue here is that you were being impatient and now you’re frustrated.

The reseller, 3D Touch, said the responsibility lies with Bambu Lab, because BambuLab is the one that sets the pricing policy in the country.

Help me out here, want to be sure I understand this.
Buyer pays for machine. Machine later (sooner) goes on sale and is reduced to a lower price point.
Buyer is mad price went down AFTER purchase.

Was it supposed to go up? I mean, prices go down, especially if you buy first. You don’t get refunds. If you are tying the value of the machine to cost then..huh? If you’re mad because the price went down and you spent more, even a day later, then welcome to the real world.

What company seriously changes prices like this?People often mention Tesla, Inc. when talking about aggressive price adjustments, but even there, you do not see a product moving from 24k to 21k, then to 19k, and back to 21k within such a short period, leaving customers completely unable to understand its real market value.

Imagine buying a premium car believing in the brand, trusting the launch, and then seeing that same product lose 20% of its value almost immediately.

That is exactly how this feels with Bambu Lab.

BambuLab launches the Bambu Lab H2D Combo, promotes it heavily as a breakthrough, highlights innovation, performance, and premium positioning, and naturally expects enthusiasts to buy early.

So you buy.

You trust the brand.

You invest heavily.

And what happens?

Less than two months later, the price collapses.

That creates a serious question:

Would you buy another BambuLab launch knowing that at any moment the price may suddenly fall 20%?

Because once that happens, trust changes completely.

Maybe the distortion starts with Brazilian resellers. But I contacted the reseller, and they pushed responsibility back to BambuLab, saying pricing comes from the manufacturer.

From the customer’s perspective, that only makes the situation worse, because nobody takes responsibility while the customer absorbs the loss.

What remains is uncertainty:

Who can trust a launch price if the value can collapse at any moment? :warning::fire:

What should Bambu Lab have done differently?

In short, the reseller doesn’t want to take responsibility and passes the responsibility on. Give me a hand: Why are you mad at Bambu right now and not at the reseller?
and of course you believe that without asking any basic questions, like about currency, taxes, shipping fees
 no further questions.

You know, people here are very critical of Bambu - really, extremely critical - but folks here on the forum aren’t stupid; they can tell when someone’s barking up the wrong tree.

Above all, what are you trying to achieve?

This has always been the case, not only with Bambu, welcome to the real world to quote R3d-Five. You know what an early adopter is and you have consciously decided to be one?

You are omitting the fact there was a sale during that period as well as another machine launched. You act like it was personal.

Have you never purchased a new car? Almost exactly how it works.

Yes, as does any other company. Once upon a time HP sold a tablet. Day one it was $200 or more. Within a very short time it was $99. THAT was insane.

Again, are you investing in something that will increase in value or that you plan on using it? Because I don’t see the complaint. Other than being hurt you paid the price asked willingly then regretting it, nothing is afoul here.

Yes.
I usually buy what I want or need with no thought to the price after I purchase it. I don’t care if it drops $20 or $200. I made a timely decision and purchased when I wanted to and I was ready. I certainly wouldn’t be concerned about someone’s perceived value afterwards. Are you upset others have saved money?

Does it? I really am at a loss on this one.

I’m sure it did. I’m sure they even giggled while telling you that.

Have you ever purchased anything? I don’t really understand what you are expecting here. You pay. There is no guarantee on price for anything unless the Retailer provides one. Really, why do you expect the difference? How does the price fluctuation change the machine and what it’s capable of? How are you not receiving exactly what you paid for?

You’re being naive.

This is made up hyperbole colored by whatever buyers remorse you are experiencing.

I get the buyers remorse and yes it’s a large sum of money. To see the price change so quickly. If you paid with your credit card and it’s within a short period you can ask for a refund, or return and re buy.

Now Brazil has some local laws that are very different than the rest of South America, so maybe you can’t return. Prices change, sometime you benefit, sometimes you don’t, but don’t go blaming the manufacturer as many times they don’t get a say. Depends on country.
