Prevent transferred 3rd-party spools from slipping on Bambu spool?

I have been transferring filament from 3rd-party manufacturers that come on cardboard to Bambu spools, but very often the inner diameter is much larger than Bambu’s spool, so the notch will not engage, allowing slippage of the filament. And suggestions what to do?

(I did try a search, but wasn’t exactly sure what I was looking for, the results that came up were mostly about respooling.)

Do the 3td party spools have anything an adapter could grab? The adapter locking position to the Bambu spool is easy with the notch. Maybe there’s a way to lock to the 3rd party spool?

There are several adapters for different manufacturers of filament on MW. Perhaps if you listed a brand we could help you find the appropriate adapter. Sounds like that’s all you need.

Ah, yea … adapter would be nifty. Brands I use are:

  • Polymaker
  • Protopasta

Found these, thanks for the advice:

There ya go.

I just didn’t know what to search for. “spool adapter polymaker” turned out to be what I needed.

Sometimes the obvious evades us until it doesn’t.

BTW I do not recommend a brain tumour, it really up the stakes on forgetfulness and dumbassery.

oof, no joke <25charssss>
