My friend and I are having a friendly argument about whether it’s called a “prime tower” or a “purge tower”. He says it’s called a “purge tower” because many other people call it that, but I just want to show him what the community thinks. My stance is that it is called a “prime tower” because:
The nozzle is primed lol
The tower is not only printed in multicolor prints (smooth timelapse also suggests a prime tower)
The printer shouldn’t be purging a noticeable amount into the tower
You can set it up to purge in the tower as well as within the print itself, though for the latter you need to consider a few conditions before doing so.
“PRIME” is when there is no filament(clean) in the head or nozzle and you “PURGE” when changing to different or same filament in a used head or nozzle. That’s what we have used forever, but that’s in the corporate.
