Hi there, I would really appreciate some help troubleshooting this issue that has come up for me.
The artifacts in the pictures are consistent on every print. Same patterns, in the same place. The strange part is that I’ve printed this part dozens of times prior to this without any issue and then this just started happening out of nowhere. The other strange thing is that I have two identical P1S printers and when printing this exact same file on the other printer I don’t get these artifacts.
I’ve run through the whole machine best I know how and inspected all the belts, lead screws, tensioned the belts, cleaned the rails, cleaned the nozzle, etc. Can’t find anything obviously wrong. Because the artifacts are pretty much identical every time I suspect it might be an issue with the file. It’s just odd that it prints fine on my other machine.
I’d be very grateful for any assistance tracking this down.
Had the same issue, It turned out to be a damaged nozzle (It was a stainless one and I printed abrasive filament with it). It was scratching the print and causing patterns exactly like that.
Interesting, thanks for the tip. This machine is pretty much brand new, I’d say less than 80 hours of printing at this stage and I’ve only printed PLA and PETG HF on this one. But I’ll swap the nozzle out anyway and see if this fixes it.
No, 100% stock. Bought this machine maybe about a month ago. It does have the AMS on it. Whereas my older machine does not have the AMS and a hardened steel nozzle. Those are the only difference between the two machines.
I’ve got a print running now after swapping the nozzle out for a new one.
Only bummer is this is a little 5 hour print and that artifact does appear till towards the end. About 260g of filament.
I would suggest cutting out this corner ( 5x5cm) to test this print.
did you print with the identical filament on both printers?
are there any changes in filling at these points, that could cause the issues?

Yes, as mentioned in the original post I have printed without issue this exact part from the same file on the SD card probably dozens of times in PETG HF. I have even taken the same roll of filament from one machine across to the other and one printer prints fine the other does not.
I’ve just finished another print after changing out the nozzle for a brand new nozzle and the exact same artifacts are present.
I’m going to re-slice it tomorrow and try some different settings. I have noticed the seam goes right up that corner so I think it might have something to do with that as well.
Just baffled why it would start out of nowhere and not do this on the other machine.
cut a piece off and print it at an other position of your built plate.
cut also the hight a bit and you will see if it is caused by printers mechanic.

Sliced off the corner and printed in the exact same position and everything printed just fine. Re-sliced the file and tweaked a few settings including trying the inner/outer/inner order and moved the seams to a different location and it printed fine.
I’m still completely confused as to why this artifact appeared out of nowhere after many successful prints and was not present on my other machine.
But, it’s printing pretty clean now with a newly sliced file.
